Another tubby legend was Steve Phillips: He's fat He's round He's worth a million pounds Steve Phillips, Steve Phillips

I had one of those Asda Bistro pies yesterday, the ones on offer for a couple of quid. Not bad at all. Pastry a little too thick, buttery and shortcrusty for my liking though.

Wish the man at diy shop in okehampton could get out of bed in the mornings ;D. Anyway had a magic pie yesterday. Got it from Dawn who sells food from her beat up old van in W.s.m . Very large and full of meat and gravey. Wonderful taste and only cost £1.40

That`s a bargain, especially if it was really nice, only problem is she won`t feature in the Football Club Pie League for obvious reasons!

That`s a bargain, especially if it was really nice, only problem is she won`t feature in the Football Club Pie League for obvious reasons! Why not? I think Dawn after leaving the small industrial estate I catch her on, then stops near the Weston Super Mare ground so any any staff on duty can pop out and buy some food from her. So that must qualifier her pies surely

I was unable to attend the Wolfie Carvery at the weekend, which for those who wouldn't have wanted indigestion brought on listening to me talking to myself about the differences between the European Court of Justice and the European Court of Human Rights was probably a blessing ;D The Family Stand's loss was the Popular Side buffet bar's gain however, and I took the opportunity to check out the much-vaunted pies which Aussie has told us about. My loyalties to TUFC on football matters are unwavering, but the pies would be judged on their merits. Would I be served one of the tastiest yet simplest hot snacks available to man, or would I end up with the pie equivalent of Lubos Kubik? More crucially, would the new security arrangments put in place since Billy Kee's arrival mean there would be some left? There was only one way to find out... The ratings:Presentation - Golden pastry served on a rectangular foil tray. Wrapped in a paper bag (bakery-style) to keep it warm and safe from rain, Pop Side odours and scraps of torn up yellow pages en route to spot. 8/10. Taste – Remembering Dave's warning about the Steak and Ale pie, I went for Steak. This was served to the required temperature (hot but not scolding). There were chunks of steak rather than mince (always good) and a rich, well-seasoned gravy. The downside was there was a bit too much gravy, which resulted in an unseemly but necessary use of fingers. I didn't check to see if forks were available. 6.5/10. Pastry – Crisp on top, a bit too moist underneath (a fault of the filling ratios rather than the pastry). 7/10. Overall verdict – I think Dave has been spoilt if he thinks £2.50 for an edible pie in a football ground represents poor value. Not a massive pie agreed, but not a piss take either. A world away from the Pukka-Pie nastiness found at many grounds. Aussie, it seems, is a man who knows his pies. 7/10. Uploaded with ImageShack.us

Shame you couldn't make the Carvery would have appreciated your views on it and it would also be nice to put another face and name together. ;D

I do like to think that I can tell a good pie from a bad one. That was a cracking pie report and so far puts TUFC right on the heels of Hereford United who serve up a very good bit of kit, there`s a few games to go, away, so some more reports from afar are more than welcome!

I was up early with the twins this morning and rather than spend 2 hours telling them to be quiet because their big brother was trying to watch the grand prix, I took them to the park. What a glorious morning. The girls ran around playing in the sun for 3/4 of an hour. i then bribed them out of the park with an offer of ice cream. It worked!! ;D Off to the shops we went. By this time I was rather peckish too. One had a white chocolate magnum and there other a strawberry cornetto. i settled for a mince beef and onion Peter's Pie. Very nice too. always tastes nicer in the fresh air. a very satisfying morning until that tw*t Vettel won

i cant stand pasties they are disgusting Not if they are made properly. Certainly I would agree with you with the Cornish ones but a proper Devon pasty with plenty of gravy delights the taste buds and puts hair on your chest!
