I thought they were cute. What company ran the ones that serviced the housing estates of Newton Abbot and kept at the racecourse overnight called? Matchbox Toys I'd have ventured....................stupid little things, the only way I'd ride on one of those would be with a paper bag on my head with two little holes cut for eyelets like Gareth Southgate in that pizza ad! I remember once my younger daughter Vicki hanging onto the bus stop in Newton Market with both her hands to preserve her place as first in the queue and what she told me would happen certainly did within a minute.................a raddled old crow said to her "you don't need to catch the bus, you're young enough to walk home" ~ she knew dammned well that second place in the queue might well condemn her to waiting for another one. I ask you, what sort of people would put up with a service like that without petrol bombing the bloody things out at the racecourse overnight? That was a piss take of the highest order that was, presenting THAT as public transport Just to compound matters, Blundred sent his surplus winter vans up to London to run around in front of London Transport buses in the Docklands area complete with yocal drivers and manual gearboxes, just to feck up the proper bus services and the Tories bloody hee hawed their way to the bank.................... buffoons ~ it all lasted about five minutes and just went to prove what a bunch of bloody idiots the Tories had running public transport under that senile old toff Nicholas Ridley and his corrupt cohorts.

It's easy for me to say really Dave as I have been going for 48 seasons normally driving my own car as soon as I was old enough and have never had a problem parking, even when we got regular decent crowds. It's always been the case that the police (now the Council as responsibilities have changed) would put out No Waiting Cones on a Saturday morning to ensure safety and traffic flow during the afternoon of the game. I would bet that the cars you saw Wardens issuing tickets to were parked where they should not have been. If that were not the case and they just randomly pounced on cars parked in the vicinity of the ground after 48 years I would surely have received a ticket by now. I agree Stefano you should not park where you should not park and then you won’t get a ticket, the problem is when its not that clear you are parking where you should not be parking and you park there if you see what I mean. Now once upon a time they used to put cones down on part of Marnham Road on the popside side of the road and that was it and cars could park on the road around the green just around the corner and it was a place Romfordkev often parked back in the days he sold the Capitals Gulls Mag outside the ground. Now that part of the road and a few other bits of roads nearby can no longer be parked on only on match days and while there are some signs saying that they are easy to miss. Below is the only sign that’s only on one side of the road in Westland’s Lane and placed up very high. While I know you can’t park in this road on match days I have never noticed the sign before and only did by accident as I was looking up as I heard a helicopter in the sky at last Saturdays match. It is only because they know they can issue a number of tickets around the ground that the wardens now come up to the ground sometime after 2pm in a van and park where the hell they like and start writing out tickets. Then they shoot of down to the sea front to write many more out as the signs are very confusing down there and so many motorists don’t realise you can’t park on the sea front between 4pm and 6pm.

If there is a sign then there should also be markings on the road indicating that there is a sign to look for to see what parking restrictions there are. I do take your point of course Dave but I have still not managed to get a parking ticket after 42 years of driving (started at 16 on a scooter!). If I need to park, which we all do otherwise we would be going around and around, then I check that where I am parking is permitted.

how do you change it? Change your political representatives! As you know merse its not that easy.......... Social change is never easy and remember we are fighting the Tory propaganda that "cuts need to be made due to the National Deficite"How come then, that in the aftermath of the Second World War; as this country encountered just as big a National Debt when viewed proportionately ~ a Labour government managed to set up the National Health Service that the Tories are now hell bent on destroying? How come that a Labour government instigated the most comprehensive creation of social home building when today's governments (by comparison) are failing miserably? No, it's not easy; but it can be done and it must be achieved through social change. This country, (under Cameron and Clegg) like other EEU countries; are using the "banking crisis" to rape and pillage the welfare state, pensions and health services to say nothing of education and transport. The banks lost this country £2,000 billion, yet this government are only seeking a levy of £2 billion as a bank levy in the budget..................why is that? Did you or I vote for that? Were you or I asked to vote for that? I don't recall that, so who's interests are they serving now they have got their grubby hands on the national till? Do you know that if last year's banking bonuses had been confiscated in the national interest, £10 billion would automatically have been raised? Yet did ANY political party in this country propose that and put it in their election manifesto? I don't think so, and if not; why not? Social change CAN be brought about: thepeoplescharter.org/It's not communist, revolutionary or seditious....................it's just good common practice and socially just.

Bob Crow is a dinosaur and progress will happen inspite of these people. Give the coalition a chance because the alternative is not pretty. What we need is fairness. whether this is appropriate taxation for the highest earners or sorting out the benefit cheats that we all know about, it needs to be done. for far to long people have taken the piss by not paying their way in tax or claiming for something that they are not entitled to. reform the tax system and reform the benefits system so we all pay an appropriate amount and the benefits go to those who need and deserve it

You do despair, and then begin to understand the reason this country allows itself to have it's citizens routinely taken the piss out of; when two rabid Tories jump in without a single word of justification for their disrespectful attitude and Dave .................... YOU make a comment about political parties that if you only read the bloody thing in the first place you would realise this is NOT about any particular political party at all!

So who do you reckon evade the most tax in this country...................your average working class family or big institutions like banks and major conglomerates?
