There can be only one team I can support on Sunday and that is Holland, you see in all my life I had never had a friend who lived in another country until the Polder family came to Torbay for a holiday and were entertained by that man Mr Davy Beat.
Davy was packing up his equipment after the show when the hotel owner knowing he was a TUFC fan, asked if there was a game up at Plainmoor during the week as one of his guests would like to go and watch if a game was on.
Yes there was a midweek game and Rolf was shocked when I offered to call at the hotel and take him to the game, just as he was about to get into the car he looked and me and said I needed to know he did not kiss on first dates. That cracked me up so much and so a great and lasting friendship was born and I fell in love with my Dutch family, so much so they were able to do what no one else had ever done before and that was get me out of this country and into another one.
The reasons why that had not ever happened before as been put up on here before and far too long to repeat in this post, but after my near 19 hour journey to Holland I soon discovered I just loved the Dutch people.
Spending time at Rolfs weekend camp was maybe the highlight for me( just about beat that red-light district) sat in a caravan with so many Dutch men who could not speak English, yet after a few beers were able to communicate with me just fine was such a night to remember. The feeling of being part of what was clearly a great and very close community on the camp site made me forget how far I was away from home and missing the hills and valleys of Devon.
I should point out that I feel the Spanish people may also be a great people, only I don’t know any Spanish people so can only speak about the people I do have as friends in another country.
I was also pleased to meet Rob( ospelgull) and his two friends from Holland and once again I was so at ease talking with people I never knew before because I just found them so likable and easy to get on with.
Going on the evidence of the two semi-final games, I feel Holland are going to have to play a whole lot better if they are not going to be beat by a high score. But it is a cup final and anything can happen as we know in a game of football, I hope it’s a great and exciting game to watch

Holland for me too.
The Spanish are good, and they were very impressive against Germany, but I personally find their onanistic brand of football irritating.
I have also enjoyed my time in Holland, and it is a country I admire a lot. They also punch way above their weight for such a small nation. It would be great to see them crowned World Champions on Sunday.

I find their pass-pass-pass-pass-pass-pass-pass-lose ball-whinge at ref-pass-pass-pass-pass-dive-Sergio Ramos trying to get yet another player booked-pass-pass-pass brand of football as irritating as you do. It's just exhibition football for Smurfs. The only thing that would stop me supporting Holland is Mark van Bommel who's a nasty, dishonest and dirty player who seems to have got away with murder throughout his career. But Holland it is, I have some dear friends in Amsterdam and Utrecht. They might not have played the best football so far but Lambertus van Maarwijk has managed to stop the usual Dutch in-fighting whilst looking like Barry Mannilow on a golfing holiday. Very impressive.

Great to hear that Howard Webb will be refereeing the final.
An absolutely top class Ref & this is clearly being acknowledged. Let's hope he has a good game.

Great to hear that Howard Webb will be refereeing the final. ..................and of course he takes Darren Cann and Mike Mullarkey there with him. A long way from being the fourth official at Plainmoor eh!

A long way from being the fourth official at Plainmoor eh! Webb has been competent at best. Through no fault of his own but simply not having much to do from the middle in the games he has refereed. There is no doubt that the outstanding performances of Darren Cann and former Devon County League referee and colleague Mike Mullarkey were a major factor in this appointment.

Keep the English FA sweet with a consolation prize!

That made me laugh and leads me to question whether you would consider a game between Arsenal and Spain as more a game of frotball than football? I'll go to bed on that one!

I would argue that a game between those two would see an outbreak of Mutual Onanism. Pass-pass-pass-jeeeeesssaasssss!
