Here is my entry Dave. I know a couple but have had to guess at the rest and one I have no idea at all so there is no point me sitting here just looking at it!! (1) Bideford (2) Okehampton (3) Crediton (4) Torrington (5) Okehampton (6) Bideford (7) Attractive looking place & I would like to know where it is! (8) Hatherleigh (9) Hatherleigh (10) Okehampton (11) Morchard Bishop (12) Crediton (13) Okehampton. (14) Dave's new van in another lay-by Apologies for poor effort tonight Dave but it was all a bit of a rush before heading off to the pub! ;D

Am I not going to get any praise for working out Dave's lay-by!! Talk about a needle in a haystack...
Now, if I can find that one, can someone not work out my 'field'?

A wonderful effort stefano with many right answers and some you have got right were ones I hoped would secure my first victory. I will list the ones you have got wrong.Number four Number seven, you know where it is and drive past it I'm sure, you only don't know what it is hiding behind, some units are empty but the bakers shop is a must visit Number eight Number nine Number eleven As you like number seven here are two more pictures, the second one is on the way back out

Now, if I can find that one, can someone not work out my 'field'? Bloody hell, Leigh, you've had me looking on the site of the North Devon T****s tonight and I see they've changed their chairman in recent years. I'm guessing this is one of three possible lines: Barnstaple-Ilfracombe, Barnstaple-Lynton, Barnstaple-South Molton. Can't do anything better than that - near Filleigh, perhaps? Or Bratton Fleming? Dave's number seven might be Okehampton and - like Stefano - I would have apparently been wrong in thinking the football pitch was Hatherleigh. As for myself, I stood in silence in memory of Algirdas Brazauskas last night. Where might I have been?

A Lithuanian guy but you wouldn't have gone there to do it so it's got to be at home! So where is that football pitch, if we both think it's Hatherleigh do you think Dave could be getting mixed up with all those miles he drives?!!

Dave's number seven might be Okehampton and - like Stefano - I would have apparently been wrong in thinking the football pitch was Hatherleigh. I parked my van in Okehampton this morning around 7.30am very close to the building in picture 13. I needed to call on the local DIY shop and the man never gets there until 8am and so I went on a walk around the town, Number seven is indeed in Okehampton and stefano when you come in from the Exeter end and get to the traffic lights just past the church look to your right. You will see an alleyway and above it a sign that reads RED LION SHOPPING COMPLEX this morning was the first time I have walked through that alleyway and always thought due to its name it was some sort of old pub turned into shops. I do wonder if the building on the left or right just inside the alleyway was once a pub, you would think so wouldn't you due to the name being used. Barton for the football ground you should look so much closer to HOME, the gates were locked and I had to put the camera phone through a gap to get the pictures.

Thanks for that Dave and I will certainly make sure the next time I am in Okehampton and have time to spare I will have a wander around the scene of your photographs. Looks really attractive, if a bit out of character for an ancient mid-Devon town. As you said I have driven through many a time, have had appointments in the town, and have seen the Red Lion Shopping Centre, but have never got in behind it. It's amazing how one can live in a County for almost six decades and still be discovering little gems! I was convinced the football pitch was Hatherleigh again having driven past it numerous times and when I had another look it was still Hatherleigh, so unless Barton or somebody else comes up with it before I look forward to you revealing it at the end of the weekend. Both the rugby pitch and the London Inn I know I have seen but at the moment just can't get location in my mind, so I may have a burst of inspiration with those. The blue pub didn't look familiar at all (in fact Budleigh's field rang more bells) which at least is some reassurance that I haven't been in every pub south of Bristol! Do you think your boss may have given you a van without a telephone number on it so that his day isn't interrupted by furious irate motorists?

Spot on Barton as while I do North Devon etc on Tuesdays and Friday I finish up in Exmouth.
So there are three? still looking good for my first victory.
Stefano that was the only call my boss has ever received and guess what? ON Tuesday a woman car driver was just in front of me in the right hand lane and cut right across me forcing me to break hard ( it really does need something doing there to make it safer) most unlike me I treated her to a long hard horn blast. ;D

4BDave, I reckon your job takes you around the industrial estates of lots of small towns. This doesn't look a particularly grand rugby set-up and the surrounds appear rather business-like. Where have you mentioned recently? Well, you passed through South Molton on the way to Witheridge. The post code of South Molton RFC is EX36 3LH and that appears to come up trumps on Google Street View....

Barton the detective works out another one and so I believe there are only two that I'm clinging onto in order to get my first win PS, it does have a clubhouse etc on the otherside of the road where I was parked to take the pictures.

I stood in silence in memory of Algirdas Brazauskas last night. Where might I have been? At the North Devon Conservative Association - flaunting your communist credentials just to p*ss them off.

Clyst Valley FC, Winslade Park, Clyst St Mary. Wasn't that the club that Steve Cooper managed after some idiot finished his professional career by bashing into his knee at John Menzies?
