Obscure maybe... but obviously not to the geographical intelligensia we have on this forum! I was just about to put up a clue to this place being 'very close to some Merry Maidens' but there's no need now.... * * Just up the road...

Tregiffian Burial Chamber? I thought it was the remains of the entrance to the cellar of a Bronze Age pub!! ;D

Obscure maybe... but obviously not to the geographical intelligensia we have on this forum! Process of elimination, really. The nearby road suggested it wasn't Carn Euny - as I first thought - but I had the right book to hand. And, no, I didn't know those pubs on the Holsworthy to Bideford road. Without Stefano I wouldn't have had a clue!

I love the colouring of Leigh's pictures. Is this the first Neolithic tomb with 3g artificial turf?

Mind you it also resembles Gary Neville's proposed new "Eco House" on the moors between Bolton and Bury.

Or possibly a players' tunnel leading to a pitch the other side of the hedge?
There was always a hostile, feisty crowd at Merry Maidens FC in Bronze Age times.

Damned difficult today Dave so I'll guess some to fill in the gaps as I need to rush off to the pub!! (1) Fishermans Rest, Aveton Giffard (2) Railway Inn somewhere you have been today ;D (3) The Boatman, Saltash (4) Kingsbridge (5) Church House Inn, Churchstow (6) Cremyll Ferry

No.2 is The Railway Inn at Dawlish (had a few pints there over the years!). Can't place the thatched building but No.6 is the lay-by overlooking the Teign Estuary and Shaldon on the way out of Teignmouth towards Bishopsteignton.

Spot on Ricardo and so just the thatched building picture No.4 to identity. When it was a tearoom?/ restaurant it had a very distinctive name that really suited the building, its on the way out or on the way in the village depending on which way you are heading.
