I think It could be a pick from three, I have heard a few names, but don't we all, one name I would be more than happy to see here and infact I'd pay to sign him myself ;D

When are we likely to hear any news then Dave? If we sign a right back then Mansell will be another player looking at the two centre midfield spots. Sounds like Hargreaves has one of those positions on a permanent basis so the others, including Mansell, with have to fight it out for the other? Unless he starts playing 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 like Saturday for aways games.

I do not think we would have to wait too long for any news. Would you rather not see the right back spot filled by a proper right back? surly getting the defense sorted out properly is a must.
yes It would create more competition for the mid field places, that also Is not bad, but it would give us plenty of cover and be able to choose the best combination, based on the strengths Of the team we were playing against.
Mansell would also still be cover for the right back spot, players get injured and suspended at times.

The possible candidate I highlighted last week who then went to another club on trial last Monday, didn't play for them at the weekend and as far as I know they have made no public announcement of his involvement with them. That may indicate that he stipulated a certain criteria to his "trial" because he has an iron in the fire with us. He's trialing at a club near his home, and his home is along way from Torquay which is probably why he was looking around South Devon last week. There are many such players at the moment who priced themselves out of the market in the close season and now really have to get down to finding themselves a contract somewhere, and such players are far more likely targets than those currently contracted to other clubs. Meanwhile, the striker that the club have been observing scored yet again at the weekend! That's at least 8 goals this season from (I think) 9 appearances!

Crikey Merse, unlike you to give such a big clue away! You have already told us it was a BS South player, you hinted that Bucks and North may have been at Dorchester on that Tuesday (they were playing Team Bath) and now you tell us that said striker has scored 8 goals so far this season, and scored at the weekend. Well there are only two strikers who have scored that many goals in BS South and both of them scored at the weekend ! One is Jon Main at AFC Wimbledon - nice idea, but probably unrealistic - the other though is a lad called Steve Abbott who interestingly enough plays for Team Bath. We should also remember that Bucks tried to arrange a friendly against them last week (perhaps to have a closer look?) but was beaten by the weather. Am I right? As for the right back, let's hope he thinks we are a far better altyernative - any more clues, you can give us?

We're signing Lionel Blair!!
Surely a step in the wrong direction. He may be a good mover but can he defend? (or is he dead?)

Crispygull, for the right back you need to look much higher than team Bath mate.Pick one from three, I wonder how long a bird could fly from Bath, before finding another football ground.

errr......Bristol. Ryan Green?
I think crispy was talking about the striker. All I can read about Abbott on the dreadful Team Bath website, is that he is a midfielder. Seems to have scored a few, mind. Agree, it would almost be a step down for Main. Che Stadhardt scored again for Thurrock.
Given Pearson's start for Burton, I'm all for bagging someone prolific from a lower League. Others wouldn't be.

Yes got that Mixed up Rob, but Green, well Colin knows him well, I have always rated him and we got a signed ball from him, plus signed by all the other players, while he was at Millwall.

Can't imagine it's him as he started for Rovers tonight. As did Jo Kuffour.

Lindegaard didn't make the Cheltenham side, though! And his surname has political pedigree, merse.
