I am not saying there has been, the money we've put into the club wouldn't have got a mention from me tonight until you argued the case that I do not understand the pain as I haven't been paying my entrance fee for as long as the older fans. I actually attended the game when we got religated to BSP which I believe has been Torquays biggest failure to date, am I correct? Witnessing that, I believe puts us all in the same boat and makes us equal to give our opinions, as I've said my age really has absolutely nothing to do with it Dave.
As for the polls, the last four polls haven't exactly been positive...2 of them have been do the fans have confidence in Buckle, I think the number of members that have voted in that one shows people don't want to keep having the same conversations/debates/polls on who no longer believes in Buckles (if they ever did) as they make that known on a day to day basis.
Another poll was regarding the communications in the club, I can't name a club in the country who keep their fans updated with the goings on behind the scenes. Or maybe I could included Newcastle as the one 'openly honest' team and they have proved this only causes trouble. The fact that PB is still the manager should show the board are still behind him, so I see no reason they should put on the offical site a "we support Paul" article.
And the fourth poll was about Lee Phillips, in which I can say I was dissapointed to see him go but whats done is done, lets move on.
I'd like to see threads on here (maybe could have been dotnet but the members from this forum were involved) that were happening in Pre-season, for example what song the team should come out to to get the fans going, as lets face it, Plainmoor needs livening up at the moment. it would be great to see on Setanta the crowd up lifted and actually excited to see the team run out onto the pitch. Of course there are other factors to fans looking forward to watching Torquay play but my point is it would be nice to see some positives on here.

Louise, after hearing Jamie's very sad news today, TUFC losing a game, going out of the league, or Buckle getting sacked, falls into complete insignificance.

This was to be my next post actually Dave as I'm sure the thoughts of every member who reads Jamie's post will be with him and his family at this sad time, it really is all about perspective and the bigger picture.
I was of course replying to your reply as that is what we do on here.

All I will say in reply to your post is I run a forum, I make posts to try and get debate going, I have made many positive posts in support of Paul, please read the forum statement, the members sure feel that I do.
You are always free to start any threads that you would like, to try and get things more positive. I wish the team was top of the league and then I would have had the happy singing forum, that I planed, the mood on the forum only reflects the mood of its members.

To go back to the original post if I may -
Well, I'm about to admit being a sheep; baaa!
I, like most of you, have been disappointed by the performances recently. I can put up with bad results as some you win some you lose. But the team performances have been patchy and confidence is low.
Having said that, however, I do not see that removing the manager will change this. Like most things in life change must be made for the better, rather than just for the sake of it. Paul Buckle must give consistency and shape to the team and to bring in someone new at this moment in time would be counter-productive in my opinion.
Yes, we may not be in the play-offs at the moment but there is plenty of time to go in the season. If I tell you that it is my nature to not expect too much, then you'll see that I can't be too down. At the start of the season, I was hoping we could get in the play-offs. To win this league is hard and to expect Torquay to do it is unreasonable. You can hope - but you can't expect. We have no God-given right to go back to the league and the standard of teams is not that different overall. As someone said earlier we're only six-points off where I hoped we could get. I hope we get the six points out of our next three games, it can be done; but kick out the manager and I say it can't.
True, sometimes a new manager gives players and team a lift but not always. Who's out there and available who's any better? Stick with it guys and gals.
I would also like to defend the players' abilities. It was suggested that they are not good enough for this league. This is unfounded in my opinion. Proper positions ans consistency of selection is the key in my view. It is better to leave on the sidelines a quality player if the team is performing efficiently without them. It is for them as a professional to force their way back in and then be allowed the odd off game without fear of being dumped straight away. Why does everyone pick on Carlisle? Is it because of where he'd come from? Is it because we know he's better than he's done so far? Is it he can't fit in to the tactical system? Lay off him I say, you're not helping 'your' team!
Final point (and then I really must do some work!), I must say it was an absolute pleasure to hear Hilly on the radio. Sign him up! And we should all bear in mind what he had to say about pressure from results and fans. One cheer from the pop-side for a header he won and he'd feel invincible. If boos on a bad piece of play (we're all allowed one or two!) and he'd go to pieces. Hey! There's an idea! Kevin Hill for manager! - (only kidding!)(next year maybe!)
cheers, and whatever god you follow - bless, Scott.
