I hope Paul Buckle has stood all his players in a circle today and told them to first start shaking their heads. Then their arms and in fact anything that can be shaken, because they need to shake that very poor performance against Burton out of their bodies.
Not one player should feel any pride at all and when they pull on their Torquay United shirt they should be going out on to the pitch and giving it everything they have got, just for the pride of wearing the shirt.
For me Bucks seemed to have forgotten what he said a few months back “we must play players in their best positions and play to their strengths.” I expect with no Carlisle Bucks saw the opportunity to give Benyon a start, but sorry Thomson plays better on the left wing, Zebs is not a left winger and Nicky Wroe needs to learn to smile and look like he actually enjoys playing in a game of football and he may then start to play like we know he can.
We all know what is needed from this game, yes a win and only a win will do, no good looking to get a draw and end our losing run, we need points and we need then desperately if we are going to avoid another relegation battle than some of us just may not have the stomach for.
We simply can’t afford to go back down because if we did we will not be going back up in a hurry and might even end up struggling just to stay in that league. We are not punching above our weight as a football league club; we were in the league before for 80 unbroken years.
Reading Alpinejoes match report, Poke needs some blinkers on, Zebs needs to start upfront and if Carlisle is still not fit then Danny will have to start on the right wing, or even give Muzzy a try out there.
Effort and hard work so often brings its rewards and the players owe Bucks the club and the fans a decent performance from them.

when i realised last night we had barnet away next game i thought we need this like a fish needs dry land. But the way things are going it wouldnt surprise me if we get a result there. As long as we re-group and work damned hard it is possible,i reckon on a 1-1 draw, and after saturdays result and performance i would take that

Looking forward to seeing United after work on Tuesday. It will be a tough contest no doubt, but the an opportunity to bounce back after the weekend and to stop our run of defeats.
Let's hope for a better and less 'flat' atmosphere in the Away End than was seen at Fortress Plainmoor on Saturday.

Let's hope for a better and less 'flat' atmosphere in the Away End than was seen at Fortress Plainmoor on Saturday. That won't be difficult its no excuse but the events this week caused by people not knowing the real facts and the club cocking things up a bit played a very big part in making it the worst atmosphere I think I have ever known at Plainmoor. I would expect the players will be happy to be playing away and hope they can win this game and then play at home next Saturday to a more welcoming crowd

Yeah, it certainly wasn't the best lead up to a game, that's for sure.
Anyhow, does anyone know a pub in the vicinity of Underhill where Gulls fans will be congregating?

Just under the railway bridge on the right as you head down from High Barnet tube station. Before you get to the Odeon - much better than the Red Lion.

Queens Arms. Just under the railway bridge on the right as you head down from High Barnet tube station. Before you get to the Odeon - much better than the Red Lion. .....................and much better than the Odeon too as it happens! A McMullens (the Watford Brewery) pub and one of many fine boozers in Chipping Barnet which technically starts just up the hill after the football ground. There's no concessionary admission to the away terrace by the way for which you'll pay fifteen quid, although if you wished you could have bought a three game ticket for thirty nicker ~ great for masochists! At least the away terrace provides a side on view and this year away fans are switched back to the original top (North) end and hopefully they'll have more than two turnstiles open but don't hold your breath andd expect a bit of a performance to get in. Beware of the rip off that are the £20 away seats.................uncovered and situated right by the corner flag with a view straight down the touchline, ludicrous!

Well Mr Buckle let's spell this out. Barnet have not won for 12 games. This should be completely winnable. On saturday we face Bradford at home who haven't won in 6.
We need 6 points out of the next 2 games to help get us out of the shit you've put us in. I'm not interested in excuses just points.
Good luck to the lads and Buckle, right now it's all about points. Don't care how you do it.

With Barnet not having won a league match since October and us being on a poor run something's gonna give. One things for sure and that is Barnet will want to change their fortunes asap and will fancy that this is their chance to end that run and surely be up for it. As difficult a game at the wrong time as could be imagined especially if we dont come out of the blocks with any intent.

so is it the queens arms in barnet tomorrow or somewhere else? The QA for discerning and proper beer loving company, a motley collection of CGs and those you swore were dead. Not a ten minute walk from the away entrance which will help the latter "Somewhere else" outside the away entrance for the Alcopop Army, singing endlessly about Exeter and what it is full of........................so you takes your money and you makes your choice!

--------------Poke-------------- Manse---Ellis---Charns---Smiffy Wayno-O`Kane-Jesus-Thomo -----Rendell--------Zeb--------
If Wayno is still injured then Stevens maybe, bring Ty on for Hargreaves in the second half when he`s tiring, and cover on the bench for injuries in all departments just in case. Wayne, O`kane and Jakey should give us enough in attacking creativity and Tarzan/Ty for the mopping up job. EDIT>> No Tarzan then, Eunan and TY in the middlewith little Danny on the wing due to Wayne`s groin injury!
