personally i think dropping poke would be a mistake, firstly he doesnt deserved to be dropped, and secondly i really think he is a better keeper than bevan whom i rate as well.He is normally a great shot stopper, mistakes by him can be counted on one hand,he will ride this little blip thats for sure, and lets hope branston gets the lads at the back focused and sharp, its instinctive to fall back defensesively when under the cosh, and as merse says little the boss can do when the match is in progress.I thought we sounded superb first half last night, despite the background distractions of late, and probably ran ourselves to the edge of exhaustion in a fast moving first half. All in all a lot of positives to work on

I thought Bevan was actually injured and was awaiting an operation at the end of the season? I may be wrong though!

Still gutted about the result but I am looking at it as a point gained rather than two points dropped. We played well on the whole and that should give the players a boost going to Edgar Street on Saturday.
Pokey has done well for us and I am not going to call for his head based on one moment last night. His kicking does worry me at times (Barnet game for example) and I don't think it would hurt to let Bevan have a couple of games to allow Poke to rest up and come back 100% and ready for the fight for the rest of the season.
After last night I am more confident about our ability to stay up, the Hereford game in key in my eyes, get a result there and we can push onwards and hopefully upwards!!

86% possesion for us? thats what some stats sites have said,i am not quite sure how accurate that is,but if it is correct,i cant ever remember seeing such onesided figures like that before, especially for us!!

The PA's stats system broke down early in the game last night - ignore all thoughts of us having 86% possession, or one shot on target - it's all wrong!

Deeply upset about what has happened to our forum recently, I know all my fellow regularly members love the forum and for what it has always been. I will not let this forum be ruined I have put to much time into and it means so much to me. I will have to decide the best way to put the TFF back on track and I know you will respect any actions I feel I will have to take. Dave As I commented last night it was very strange being over run last night. As Merse said this has never been one of those sites where we have felt the need for 6 posts to shout "4 minutes left" , "free kick" etc etc. This also coupled with a few "numptys" and the usual silly comments (nice to see you to see you nice-Brucie!!). Finally however we should also welcome some new visitors who added some very valid points and thoughts

All this sentimental guff is in no way related to football and doesn`t help the team, you don`t pick your team out of fondness or who`s been at the club the longest, you pick your team according to who you think will get you three points and if giving Poke a little rest too freshen up works so that he comes back much sharper then how exactly is that a bad thing?

aussie nothing sentimental,i think he is a better keeper, him and bevan are good, both have differing strong points and weaknesses. He has been not so commanding in the area maybe of late, but generally is very reliable, ultimately buckle will decide who is in or out,a rest maybe, but i dont know what level of fitness bevan is at presently

well personally I enjoy these quick comments coming up during the games, it lets me know that many others are sat in front of their computers enjoying the game and for me exactly that makes the forum a bit special. they could be deleted after the game.
anybody else think that crewe overdid it a bit with the size of that "red" stand? just imagine that at plainmoor.

Did you know players can experience what`s known as `burn out`and if you keep pushing them they get worse and worse, I`m not saying this is the case with our Micheal, I am just trying to show you why sometimes a rest can be good for them. You know when a player hasn`t played for ages but is physically fit they need game time, well the reverse can occur for players who haven`t had a break for ages and are physically and mentally tired!
