Thats the reason I put them up merse, because to condemn any child to drugs as young as four years old, for scoring over zero on anyone of those things on that list is in my view disgusting. I should point out my grandson has now started at big school.
I have been aware for many years the root cause of the problem and there was a time I was asked for advice and help. It is often the case that when you do not say the words some want to hear, they choose to stop listening when really they should.
Some things were taken on board and given a go, but not enough effort was put in and it was only done half heartedly anyway. The problem is you can't tell others what to do with their children and as things are not I can't push very hard or else I will be back on the outside again.
Thats why I'm trying to get a better understanding, trying to see if there is something in it, when I have the information I need, then I will make myself more involved and try to get done what is best for my grandson.
I do not think it is the case with my daughter as it was with her mum, but that woman seemed to want to go around and look for sympathy by claiming her children had this health problem or that health problem.
Ant played in game when he was 8 years old and it was a damp old day and he got a bit chesty, I came home from work a few days later and she had inhalers by the bucket load for him, claiming he was asthmatic and had to use them every day.
There was no way he was and while it caused a few big arguments, Ant never used them and look how he has turned out as a sports person.

Joe if possible can you reduce the images to 800x600?
I think its very brave of you to put this up, I have found it very helpful and the important thing to remember is, your learning difficulty's were of no fault of your own.
Knowing you a bit better lately, its clear to see that some things have remained with you and goes some way to explaining why you do some of the things you do, IE starting things and not seeing them through etc.

The website link I have provided below is about symptoms of Autism. I think it is a good website as it provides information on what Autism is, what symptoms there are for Autism, what can be done to help people with Autism and relevant links for people to go to if they need more information or help: hcd2.bupa.co.uk/fact_sheets/html/autism.htmlheres a little extract from the introduction at the top of the website: "Autism is a range, or spectrum, of disorders that affect individuals to varying degrees. A child can have their own combination of difficulties, putting them somewhere on what is called the autistic spectrum. Some children with autism may have learning difficulties and very limited speech and communication. Other children with a milder form of autism, called Asperger's syndrome, may have a good vocabulary but still have difficulty with communication. According to the National Austistic Society, over 500,000 people in the UK have an ASD. A study published in 2006 has shown that as many as one in 100 children may have an ASD. It's four times more common in boys than girls"

Thanks for all you have added on the thread Joe and sorry I was unable to read all you took to the youth game for me to read, as the game was close to starting. I did try and get my grandson to come to the game tomorrow, but I don't think he likes football, something else I will need to work on He is coming to my home after the game and staying the night and all day Sunday until 6pm, so I will be better able to form an opinion about the effects the drugs he is having to take, is having on him.

Thank you all for your comments. I am the mother of a 15 year old nonverbal autistic son and the director of The Miracle Project, www.themiracleproject.com, a theater program for children of all abilities. (profiled in the film AUTISM: The Musical) Through my personal and professional experience I have found children and adults with autism to be among the most sensitive, intuitive, and extraordinary people I have ever known. (Before adopting my son I worked as an A-list Hollywood Acting Coach). My son and my students have taught me compassion, understanding, and to listen to the child who does not speak. Autism is a neurological difference. One that needs to be understood. I invite you all to listen and learn. Wishing you many miracles, Elaine Hall CoachE!
