Thanks very much for finding that, gullone. Those pictures brought back lots of memories. From Genesis down, the Coliseum seemed to be able to get them booked for an appearance. Whether you wanted The Smiths or Shakin' Stevens, Wham, Culture Club, Steve Hackett, Paul Young, most tastes were catered for. The best gig I attended there was Big Country first time round. The Skids had broken up and not too many even realised that Stuart Adamson had put together a new band and was touring. The entrance to the concert arena and the entrance to the NightClub/Disco were right next to each other, and there were half a dozen heading into the club for every person attending the gig. Adamson & Co put on an mesmerising performance for the small crowd of 30 or so. Needless to say they came back years later when they were famous. Played to a packed house, and I thought they were rubbish

Time for a bit of real music for a change! Non of that Namby Pamby, Fluffy Wuffy stuff we've had recently! Was there ever a better 'Air Guitarist' than our Joe? Not too keen on the backing group to be honest, whatever happened to Sue and Sunny? Had them both of course (Sue and Sunny that is) and equally of course...they don't know about it yet! Enjoy.

A classic piece of Python.
John Cleese exceptionally confused as to which pets do and do not require a license.
Apparently, George Edwards told two young police officers to go over and ask him if he had a license for his pet fish Eric.

...RIP Neil Peart, drummer for Rush who has sadly passed away - Rock And Roll Never Forgets..... Amazing how many of the best drummers start with a P. Paice, Powell, Palmer, Peart, Portnoy .... I seem to remember rumblings in the sixth form block that Spirit of the Radio was a commercial sellout after their epic prog rock period. You would have been about as popular offering that as an example of Rush's work as a Blairite on BTPIR. Curry after Notts County game???

....Fab lyrics......
Something is happening, Mr. Jones My brother says you're better than the Beatles or the Stones From Saturday night to Sunday morning You turned us into heroes Can you hear the heroes sing Dandy You are the prettiest star There ain't no life on Mars but we always thought there might be Dandy You opened up the door You left us wanting more And then we took the last bus home Who let the genie out of the lamp? The Little Lord Fauntleroy who let him out of his amp From Saturday night to Sunday morning Well Trevor's getting bolder And Woody loves the hit thing Dandy This world was black-and-white You showed us what it's like To live inside a rainbow Dandy You thrilled us to the core You left us wanting more And then we took the last bus home Lie lie la lie Lie lie la lie… You beat up the liar You had it all The voice, the look the songs that shook The gift of the gab and the gall From Saturday night to Sunday morning When all we had to look forward to was the weekend You made our lives worth living Dandy You're still the prettiest star There ain't no life on Mars but we always thought there might be Dandy You took us to the fair With Cabaret Voltaire And then we took the last train home Dandy You know we waited long enough They should put a statue up in Piccadilly Circus Dandy You blew us all away Outta the drab and the gray And then we caught the last bus home Dandy The keeper of the flame We won't see your like again Oh, Dandy was a one-off Dandy
