It has to be done, here it is...the 'what are you listening to' thread And with Dave's full agreement Just tell us what you're listening to or have been listening to recently. Its a great way to share your musical tastes and maybe find some music that you hadn't heard of before... Grabbed the first one and guess what?
I'm now listening to New World Record by E.L.O
The track on here Living Thing was what got me into E.L.O
I was soon down the shop getting th 3 albums before this one and have bought every record since.

Playing various venues in South West during the course of the year - most "local" being on November 28 in Plymouth. Tickets normally £12 or £10 in advance. Not "the real thing" of course, but listening to their clips, they sound quite good. By the way, I am often delving into the back catalogue of the greatest Jazz Funk band ever......... LEVEL 42 !! Off to see them for the 25TH time later this year, when they play the Cliffs Pavilion @ Southend. True 80's magic!

Thanks for the information Kev, already clearing my diary for the Plymouth gig.
I'm now listening to
The Unbelievers
album is called Standing Naked In Disgrace.
I listen to pop master every morning on Radio 2, this guy was on there, said he was in a band. Gave out their website and offered to send their CD for free, to anyone who vised their site.
Not sure if thats good or not, not even sure what sort of music I would call it. Well I grew up with the Beatles remember ;D ;D

Now listening to tracks from the album Constellations by a Sheffield Band by the name of Gledhill and the latest release from a local Exeter Band - Letters To Leaders with the lead guitarist a young lad that played in the kids team I used to manage for a few years.

Just been tinkering around on Youtube. For all you 80's music fans out there, type in Propaganda - Duel. The band are from Dusseldorf and this track hit the charts in May '85. Got to be one of the best 80's tracks ever (IMO). (Lead singer looks a bit rough though)!! Any recommendations from others on these boards? Could be quite interesting to get a little insight into others favourites/ preferences through the extensive Youtube listings. Come on, ....don't be shy!!

Speilhur - Rammstein
Sort of a cross between Depeche Mode and Metallica with guttural German vocals!!
Sounds dreadful I know but somehow it works!!

When we were in Germany a few years ago, we saw Hansa Rostock play at Werder Bremen and the travelling Hansa fans nearly all looked like BCR fans to a tee................... scarves wrapped around their wrists, mullets and loads of tartan - life in the old GDR is still retro in so many ways and as Rostock is the Baltic equivalent of Devonport is it any real surprise they are so backward?
