I firmly believe that in life one should only worry, when there is a need to worry. Yet here we are not yet started our new challenge for promotion and some fans already have put themselves in the worry mode.
Firstly after the great news we got about Poke and remember I said I would put my head on the block, when I said stop worrying he is coming, need to move Rayner on first and he came. No sooner is he here and fans are already worrying about him leaving, Why?
No he is not our player, not under contract with us, but the club will address any situation that may arise surrounding Poke. The club did all it could to get Poke on a contract here and in the end it had to settle for the next best thing. The fans need to only concentrate on the start of the season, the time to worry about the ifs and buts about Poke is when something happens. I can't see there being any problems until January and I believe, that even them we will not have to much to concern ourselves over.
I have said, I don't think our preseason games, were against the better opposition I would have liked, if only for the reason of the buzz as a fan I would get playing against decent higher league teams. Also I would have preferred to see the team having a much stronger test, than playing teams like Bidiford.
Andygulls does make a fair point that as a BSP team, we will not attract the higher league teams to play us in preseason friendlies, but maybe the club felt that playing in the Errea Tournament and as Merse said the players having time away together up at North Devon, was considered could be more beneficial for the squad.
Talking to and reading some fans thoughts, I get the feeling that now some are already starting to worry, that in pre season we have not scored many goals. Once again the time to worry will really be, when by not scoring we are losing games that matter. Those are league games and the ones that will decide if we go up or have to spend another season in the BSP.
If Green stays fit, he will get goals, we all know what Sills can offer, we have forwards who are capable of scoring goals, start worrying if they don't in league games, not now.Once again we find we have a team at the start of the season, where many players are new to each other, we all know any rebuilt team, takes time to gel and players having to learn to play together. Learning the strengths and weaknesses of their fellow team mates.
All I'm saying is don't read to much into the games played so far, lets just stop worring and really start to get excited about the start of the new season, very soon upon us and keep alive the believeth, in the real possibility, that we have a very good chance of going back to where, many feel we belong.
Don't get me wrong, if after the first month, we have been poor, not scored any goals etc, I will voice my concerns as loudly as I can on here, but as I have already said, the time to worry, is only when we really need to worry.
