Mind you putting that donkey Woods in the Chelsea team evens things up a bit...................oh isn't it THAT one? As you will not be drawn into your mistakes you made, supporting Roberts, I will not encourage you to start talking about Woods ;D ;D Anyway I still feel there is no need to get to concerned about not scoring to many goals so far.

I think your right, the season is yet to start and we have 4 decent forwards so i think we have grounds to be rather hopeful that we will start scoring afew.

Have to disagree with that I am afraid Dave. I am concerned about the lack of goals. Benyon is proving he is not up to being a regular contributor against quality opposition and with D'Sane crocked we start he season reliant on Green and Sills neither of whom are converting with abandon.

Well, the reason I see no need to worry, is based on the fact, the results of these games have no real meaning. Yes we would all be happy, if both Sills and Green, were banging them in, but Sills proved against Rovers, that if he gets the correct ball into the box, he will score. The title of the thread and my first post, are really saying, lets not get too worried just yet, we may need to One month into the season, but not yet. Who can tell me that Sills and Green come the first game, will start to really click and start scoring. Who can tell me they won't and we will not score many goals and may need to look for a new strike option. You see I firmly believe they are plenty good enough and we have enough quality players in the team to give our strikers good service. I will only start to be concerned, when by not scoring, it will cost the team points, feel free and I'm sure you will to tell me one month into the season, I was wrong not to be worried. But then I might just be saying to you, why were you worried. ;D

For all those concerned about pre season form cast your mind back to our last promotion winning season. We were absolutely miserable pre season and put in one of the best Gulls away performances in living memory at a very sunny Northampton.
Pre season results mean nothing. Simple as!

I fully agree, but to listen to some, we are doomed and facing relegation. Yes we would have hoped to have scored more goals and won more of the games.
I'm very happy with the team we have, it has enough quality all over the pitch, as I say I will start to worry, if we did not get the results in league games, fans really need to give the team a chance to prove itself.

Don't think I've seen anyone say we are doomed or facing relegation. I think we are probably playoff bound and have the depth to sustain decent runs in cup competitions. However an observation on the way the squad looks at present presents an opportunity to analyse strengths and weaknesses, I have concerns about both the right back and striker positions. I think defensively we have improved with Poke and Hodges and we are no worse across the rest of the back line. We have strength in depth in midfield but I think we are short of a decent quality forward for the long season ahead.

May be a slight over exaggeration on my part Andy, why the right back? do you not think Mansell is doing a good job in that position.
Sills and Phillips did not always play at the start of games together, so who are your worried about most? OK Green seems to have not preformed in the last two games, I don't disagree with that, but he must have something about him and fans were over the moon when he signed.
Ant said it was really bad to watch today, I took my reports from .com who made it sound as if we were playing OK.
I still will wait until we start our season, before I really pass judgment.
