I have returned to my home at 12:30pm from Wembley on a minibus and what a day.
For the first 15 or so minutes Cambridge seen more of the ball but couldnt get past our defence and Courtney Pittman was thier best player out on the wing, takinng him off in the 2nd half for Parkinson wasnt a good decisions as he seen most of the ball from Camridge but then again as soon as he got the ball he couldnt do anything else with it.
I have taken a few photos today which I`ll put on the forum later on about 6pm. I seen Aussie there and so I had to get that photo and a really nice chap to speak to.
We are football league, said we are football league!!!

Well done Joe, just got in myself after dropping people off round the South Hams. Well I did tell you all that we would crack it as soon as we qualified for the play offs. I had such good vibes about it all. Because we won it was a great day, goals were great, fans great. The team went to work and did what they were paid to do. I am very happy indeed.

Just back ourselves from Wembley and what a brilliant day we have all had. Lewis loved every minute of it all! Being Torquays mascot at Wembley was a dream come true for him. Two fantastic goals from our skipper and star striker!! Managed to record the game and will treasure it forever. Well done you Gulls for making it a day to remember for all your fans. Have got a few photos so will forward them to the site tomorrow.

My little lad Anthony was the perfect barometer to the mood of the day as it unfolded yesterday................. On the way to Wembley via the Cafe 66 and the Metropolitan Line he was pensive and quiet, keeping his thoughts to himself save for the odd thing that was puzzling him so much he would ask Dad for an explanation. Packed into the garden of the Green Man (and please no more of this "supporter apartheid" pre~match) he was the same until there was a crack on the drums and he burst into life with his trade mark water melon grin and a leap in the air....................now he was jumping for joy, now he was laughing and now he was asking every ten minutes "Dad, when are we going in?"He struggled manfully with all the faces Dad was chatting to, and even coming up to me and telling me "Dad, there's someone over there who wants to talk to you as well"When our second goal went in he turned to me and said "Dad, now we can come to Wembley and smile" I had tears in my eyes. I realised he still had all the pain and dismay of last season's visit in his mind and that now that would be superseded by all the joy and celebration and we would retain happy memories of a day out at Wembley. Thankyou "Nene" it was a privilege to have you at my side and I'm so very proud of you. A good boy all day long at eight years of age is not an easy thing to be especially when you're so tired come the end that you are virtually sleep walking back into the home!

Wonderful too to meet so many new faces to put to old names...................... Aussie, Ospel, Buster, Chelston (although we had met before but he couldn't recall it) and even Jamie's dad John, an old school mate and re~acquainting ourselves after (would you believe it) FORTY YEARS! There are others too who (forgive me I am not recalling right now at this unearthly hour) and plenty of old acquaintances who we only bump into one another on the odd occasion................... my brother Bryan (only at Wembley these days it seems!) Sally Eagling ~ great to have a little chat and meet little Mitchell too. "Riviera Lou" ~ Louise you are a heroin for what you achieved last week (and for getting up that ruddy hill to the Green Man!) "JC and his sunshine band from Glasgae" and Bruce Fraser too (although he doesn't post on here) bonneted, sporoned and kilted and with the most magnificent avian feather atop that outfit which included the shirt of Nigeria and the flags of St Andrew and Canada.....................you want a medal mate just for sitting on the train all the way from Newcastle like that! ......................and perhaps best of all Mikey Ind whom possibly very few of you will know, but a fantastic guy, a wonderful footballer for the CGs in his time and a very brave one too. You see, Mikey (a Zimbabwian) damned nearly lost his life in Wembley High Street last year in a cowardly attack which necessitated lengthy surgery to save his life and his eyesight. When I got told the news I thought we had seen the last of Mikey, but gradually little bits of good news came through and then we realised that the tough old bird we all knew was going to be OK and sure enough there he was in the Green Man just a stone's throw from where it all happened bouncing about and as cocky as only Mikey can be. Great to see him in such fine form and every bit as good as the day itself!

Just a shame for me Dave R couldn't be there to enjoy the day as well - hopefully he will enjoy reading what everyone else has posted, and be happy in the knowledge he has enabled me to become acquainted with a lot more Gulls fans through this site. Only a week until that first anniversary Mr Roach - and I'll be in Torquay as well

Only a week until that first anniversary Mr Roach - and I'll be in Torquay as well Andy there are times in life you have to make what you believe is the correct decision, even when you know by doing so you will have to lose out on something that means so much to you. I have loved reading the views today and seeing the great pictures put up, I'm sure we will get many more good posts and hopefully many more pictures. Your in Torquay at the weekend? was that a hint? I'm more than happy to see if we can get as many members as possible to meet in a pub this Saturday night. We can all drink and celebrate our great promotion and also have a birthday drink for the forum. I'm sure we would be able to find a few other things to have a drink on as well If anyone thinks its a good idea then let me know and we will get it all rolling. Dave R

When I said on the day, I meant on the day Dave. I arrive a week today but will be down in the Bay for a week after that...so maybe later that week or the following weekend?
And yes, it was a slighty unsubtle hint, after meeting so many great TFF members yesterday!

Yes but you have not yet met the daddy of the forum next week sounds better and will give more time for others to sort out their free time. So who's up for it?
