this disdainful treatment at the hands of the ticket agency has been the straw that broke the camel's back for many of the potential "Day Trippers". For the FA Trophy last year, 12 of us went to Wembley. Three Torquay fans and nine 'Day Trippers'. This year it looks like it's just the three of us. I wouldn't worry about the ticket-sale figures that are being released. I imagine there are a lot still waiting to hear on seating arrangements before they decide. We haven't bought our tickets yet for this reason and because we're just waiting to hear from a couple of friends who are umming and aahing about going. Out of interest, how many did we take last year?

Just a note that when I booked online just now it gave me more options where to sit and it was the guy on the phone line that told me not to book with him as he couldn't!

You can now buy tickets from Plainmoor from Monday. It's on .com. This is beyond a joke now. Nothing at all to do with the club as they have obviously demanded the tickets to sell. Also there is now some options to where you can sit.
Why could this not have been sorted from the off. There has been a serious break down in communication between the Conference and tickets.com in the service that is required. There are a few thousand now who have paid up to an extra £6.45 for tickets rather than picking them up at the club shop.
Nothing I can do about it now so I look forward to the 17th with great anticipation

Absolute shambles - takes me back to the 'good old days' of Bateson and the Birmingham replay FA Cup ticket farce - the ONLY time that I have been unable to get a ticket to follow the Gulls! Still, it's a time to try and be positive as it is not the fault of the club. Perhaps it would be good to only have the 'usual fans' as we gain very little financially from the gate receipts and perhaps there will be a more positive support than from those bloated by Premiershi£ armchair fans who expect to see Ronaldo and Torres on each team!
Booked my ticket today - the association of the last two visits is of total disappointment, the first visit was a great day out and the second was sublime - simply one of the best nights to be a TUFC fan. If the result goes for us this time it would be amazing - it will be the most riding on the outcome of any match since perhaps Crewe '87 (where we could have been wiped-out completely) but that applies to both clubs so there wont be any more pressure on us than Cambridge. I've tried to remind myself that there have been some great venues with character in the BSP, but surely that is helped by the amount of games that we have won! I'm desperate to see us back in the league and see that as reward for the board that gave the resources to make us a competitive force at this level and a squad that has managed to put in some cracking performances as of late. I'm realistic to know that you don’t often get what you deserve in football - you get what you're given!
I'd be grateful for some advice with regards to getting to Wembley - I was thinking about parking at Beaconsfield and getting the train from there directly to Wembley (Central Station?)- train tickets are cheap (by rip-off Britain standards!), are between 19 and 30 minutes in time direct to Wembley and Beaconsfield itself is apparently 8 miles from the M4 (driving from Devon so nice and easy), Are there any obvious flaws to that route? I've been advised by an Oxford fan so I want to make sure it's OK!!

I shall be flying down the M40 to Gerrards Cross too. There's loads of parking and you wouldn't need to pre-book even if you could. Thanks for the train times Mr Barton, saves me a job.

Bit of a whingefest here, negative, wingers , forum letting itself down
Just some of the responses on this thread and interesting all made bar one,by members who have never posted on a match thread, never posted when we won the play-off semi final, or any general posts on the forum.
The members on the forum did not let themselves down on this thread and in my view they never have in the past. Most have never posted kneejerk posts just because we lost one game, never started Buckle out threads and never started threads that could harm or damage the club.
They have mostly been sensible enough to look at the picture as a whole, remember how things have been in our past history at TUFC and take a well balanced view on all things to do with TUFC.
The title of this thread is Wembley Tickets and that is what has been discussed and members have rightly aired their views and concerns over the ticket arrangements. People who are prepared to stand up and say its wrong and not the way it needs to happen or should happen and only because the ones who are the very most important part of the day, you the fans have not been shown any consideration, or any thought what was best for the fans of both clubs playing in the final.
The one thing some seem to forget that this game is about the winner winning promotion, it’s the final game of a long season and respect should be shown to the game and not let it be used as a big jolly for the BSP bosses and all the corporate people who will be at the game.
Bite the bullet one person posted, well that’s fine if you are happy to not be treated with any respect as a paying customer, if your happy to hand over your money and be put in what pen someone wants to put you, you keep telling yourself this is the way it is and I have to just lie down and except it, then you will do fine and be happy, even not seeing that winning goal has you were stuck behind the goal at the other end.
This is not the BSP bosses big day at Wembley, it’s the fans final, the ones who have been to all the home games they could, or travelled hundreds of mile to away games, just to try and play their part in helping the team to get the right result.
Its you the fans who should be top of the list of priorities for this game, it should be the case that making sure the fans could buy tickets nice and easy and be able to choose where they sit (there is a lot more seats at Wembley than we will ever fill) and not get over charged by some booking system.
The clubs should have been given so many tickets each from the start; our club is the place you should have had to go to in order to get tickets. Yes I know this was not in the clubs hand, but just maybe because people have voiced their concerns and shown they are no happy with the arrangements, they will now be changing.
I would also think the rather low numbers of tickets sales may also be a reason why the club will now be selling tickets, but why only one block? And only 1000 tickets on a first come first serve basis, it’s all the ones who have already booked and paid online, or over the phone you have to feel a bit sorry for. They will have ended up having to pay more for their tickets and not even be sure where they will be sitting in the stadium.
Going to Wembley is a special day out, but I would rather the game was played in a smaller stadium where a real atmosphere could be generated, where fans were put first and the game was treated for the importance it deserves and not as I said some showcase for the BSP.
A simple and easy thing to do you would think, arranging a football match and making sure the fans of the two teams playing were looked after, treated properly and seen as the most important part of the match that is apart from the players. Now it will be the case that some fans will have a bad taste in their mouth and there was no need for this to happen.
Was it all to do with greed? Just trying to get every penny from the fans? Who knows why it was done this way, but it is clearly wrong and needs to be changed.
Ant just told me the cheapest ticket for the FA Cup Final at Wembley is £35, they do go up to £90, but it does make the price for a play-off BSP final a tad expensive

My concern is how much the club will be losing in merchandise sales with not selling ALL the tickets at the club, I imagine most floaters would have bought a shirt for the occasion & at minimum a scarf & then there is all the promotional wembley material we sold last year at the same time as buying a ticket! I hope TUFC will be seeking compensation for lost revenue due to the inept conference! I would like to hazzard a guess that the conference is taking a percentage of the booking fee & maybe postal charges.

Just a thought but the number of tickets at the club being only one thousand could be down to the fact the Board might have purchased the tickets themselves to sell on at the club, if they have done this then you have to love them even more. What ever has happened is definately down to the club doing all it can for US!

...So the club has 1000 tickets for block 119. Pitchside, and in between the corner flag and 18 yrd line according to the wembley seating plan. It'll be like the away section at Bristol Rovers ! Do you think TUFC have just been given these tickets because they are probably the hardest to sell ??
