I know I shouldn't do it, but confess I did. Did what? you might well ask - lurked on .net, that's what. I see old Floyd is STILL displaying his obsession with goings on at Exeter City and making a fool of himself calling them "amateur", "small time"; and other derogatory descriptions. For a guy with over one and a half thousand posts on the City fans' site to his name, I suppose it's no surprise really; but it's still a disappointment to me that he sets what was once a respected TUFC site up as an Aunt Sally by engaging in his pathetic "banter" with the (let's say) less mature of the City faithful. From my limited inter action with personnel of the City Trust when partaking in the initial moves to launch our very own TUST, I would say that they are indeed a very well run club with five times the number of members that we have and are indeed roughly five years ahead of us in the road to full rehabilitation after the debilitating experience under hopeless and misguided leadership that both our clubs suffered during our recent histories. No wonder neither the Chair, Membership Secretary or the other members of the TUST secretariat choose NOT to post on .net with this buffoon doing his utmost to portray OUR club as one as childish and idiotic as he is and the site he now has the Svengali influence over it's young owner!

Couldn't agree more Dave, but the Chinese puzzle is how to attract the quality posters from .net and filter out the idiots? Let me set the record straight over my attitude to younger posters, which is I respect ALL posters until they lose my respect; and the easy way for anyone to do so is to act like a juvenile when they clearly are not. I think we can all live with the naivety and over expectancy of youth.............. Jeeze - I had enough of it all those years ago, but at least when I joined in adult conversation I took the trouble to cut out the "street chat" and attempted to converse in an adult and mature fashion.

I'm more than happy with the ones we have so far, as I said I want this to be more like the old .net. We will see who we get, but I can change the settings so I have to approve any new member before they Can join. While I'm still building up members I will leave things as they are. If I get you know who ;D ;D I can always ban him

I've always rather admired one of the Dot.net staff's bye-line:
"Wise men talk because they have something to say; fools, because they have to say something."
It's a shame that, even though all the staff must have read this line a million (I'm always prone to exageration so do please pull me up on this) times, they either don't buy into it - or they just can't help themselves.
Verbal diarrhoea from moderators can help hit rates in the short term, but ends up driving posters away from any forum (I hear)

Well the better posters will always be welcome on here. This board will not be run by those who just love power, the hope is that this forum will become what the old ,net was when mervo ran it.
I will not be having loads of mods all fighting to delete posts, or ban good members and Merse was one such member.

Well said Alan It is a refreshing change to see you are able to say what you want without having the post locked, deleted or moved. I am a firm believer in Karma and I think long term there are a few people who given enough rope will hang themselves. Well done Dave on the new site. lets make it work.

This is why I set this up forum up, I want people to speak their minds, as long as we all show eachother respect. Power is not our aim, fairness to all our poster is.
