Our first home game of the season where we are looking to get our first win with a good attendance assured.

I’m unsure anymore which teams we have a likelihood of beating. We were easily held by a team last Saturday who were struggling to get enough players on the pitch!
Worthing already above us, and their supporters feeling somewhat buoyant and indeed confident of a result against us…and why shouldn’t they be!
I’m going for another drab draw, with us holding on for dear life at the end…as usual! 🤨

Not too sure what to expect unless there are a couple of key loan players bought in 🤔
Still there’s always the first home match post beer and curry to look forward to 🍛 🍺

Very unusual that there seems to be so much riding on only the second game of the season. Convincing home wins in the next two games will hopefully put us on track and settle the nerves.

Its residual frustration left over from last seasons debacle stig. I think most of us are still feeling a little angry and hurt at the way we gave up our NL status and most of us can recall how we meekly surrendered our FL status previously. That never goes away. GJ is on a tight rope and in many supporters eyes they're just waiting for him to topple. Nothing less than a convincing performance and victory will keep the critics at bay and i have no doubt it'll be just the same up the road at Yeovil. Ship more soft goals tomorrow and i dread to think what the pages on forums and other social media platforms will look like. The pressures already on that's for sure.

Totally agree petef....although I think perhaps the frustration stems from the steady decline since the play off loss to Hartlepool. That left a lot of scar tissue. GJ must have been totally gutted and perhaps has not bounced back. Let's hope for a big win on Saturday which sets us on our way to promotion. The fans certainly deserve it....it's been a torrid few years.

I think most of us are still feeling a little angry and hurt at the way we gave up our NL status …. and that we do not appear to have learned from our mistakes. Still throwing away leads, still no striker on the bench. Will be interesting to see if Dover are really as bad as we all thought they would be. If they aren’t, the draw will not look as bad as it does now. If they are, …… Johnson said that some players had no experience of National League South. So why not play pre-season games against that kind of team to prepare them? I listened to the excuses at the evening with Johnson and Downes. Need results not yet more excuses.

Would love to have Stobbs back - a very important member of our team.
I would put Jenkins Davies into the centre in place of McGavin anyway. If Stobbs out, that means either De Silva on the right or Martin on the left with Collins moving to the right.
Whoever plays wide, we will be exposed if the opposition get on the front foot as all the possibles are more wing than back.
Am still amazed that we had the choice of Law or Martin and went for Martin. I think Truro is his level, while Law is capable of more.
Was hoping Moxey would get 20 minutes last week as a step towards being ready to start. - but he only got five. We really need his experience at the back but doubt if he is match fit.
Rest of the team picks itself. A new loanee striker on the bench would be nice. Two would be nicer. No striker is the most likely unfortunately. Let’s pray that Jarvis and Ash are fit enough to run at full pelt for 180 minutes in a week. I cannot think of a single manager other than Johnson who would expect that to happen. I’m sure he will moan about how unlucky he is if one of them breaks down.
Win, lose or draw a few pints and a curry. So the day won’t be a total write-off.

Who's been shaking Garry's tightrope then?
Gary's prehistoric tactics don't seem to be working any more already in the relegation places and no different to last seasons awful start. is it Sothern league South below us??
Problem is he's already lost the majority fans now and is on the back foot and under pressure after just two games.
I cant see how he can win us back again after two such dismal opening performances and this hammering when so much was promised.
Time for some new ideas I reckon.. Ill be amazed if he lasts till the end of the month at this rate but only the owner can decide what happens and that could be anything..

I dread to think where we are going to be after 10 games. Not sure what the league below us is called...but think I will start checking. I would not be surprised if GJ decides it's time to call it a day.
