This was a time , like this era, when the players of Exeter and Plymouth were almost as familiar as our own. Certainly there are no names there in the Plymouth squad that I did not know and yet -no doubt because we now operate in different spheres - I haven’t a clue who plays for Plymouth (or Exeter) these days.

Indeed and there are probably a few more Exeter players I am familiar with than Plymouth, although looking at Exeter’s last league fixture, only Key, Amond and Jay are players I could say what their first name was and in Plymouth’s team Cooper, Randall, Law and Hardie - the rest of the squad are unfamiliar to me. The expect the demise of the Janner Indy is part of the reason and although it exists in some form, it’s not the same as it used to be where the players would be listed and rated with stars out of 5.

Good to see them both getting first-team action. Not surprised at Randell, but thought Law might need a full season at National League level before being League One ready.
