Coventry are two points above Blackpool and just above Plymouth  Happy with a home draw - don't often get to see five games in the FA Cup at home!  |

Has to be better than Cardiff, Bristol City or hartlepool away.
A very good chance of progressing to the fifth round and another attempt can be made to fill Plainmoor! I think Kettering vs Fulham will see the cameras unfortunately.

Disapointing again, we never seem to get the big one do we though I admit to feeling exactly the same when we drew Blackpool and yesterday was a great day to remember. You wonder if the draw should have a seeding system .
No reason why we can't repeat that performance and progress though the odds on knocking two championship sides out are pretty remote and Coventry will be better prepaired than Blackpool were.
Only 4 wins/games from Wembley.
Imagine the first Non League side to reach an FA cup final at Wembley.
Could it happen??

Is there NOTHING that captures your enthusiasm or that you can get positive about? You're not even a"half empty" person are you? Empty with a bloody great hole in the bottom I would say! We're at home to a Championship side and after yesterday's experience we have every chance of turning them over too. A bigger club than Blackpool and consequently a bigger attraction with more travelling fans. IF we could do it, we reach further than we have ever been in the FA Cup before. Yes, I would have loved a super club like everyone else; but it's exciting, it's winnable and at home again. Even if we pull off a draw we get to go to a fabulous new stadium that is not such a long way away by OUR travelling standards. Sky Blues at home? Blue skies over Plainmoor again I say! |

I said to my wife, I thought we would get Coventry at the Ricoh. Not far of and that still might come true with a draw and a replay on the tele.
We'll beat them and get West Ham in the 5th round.
It's the late 80's cup draws all coming back at once. ;D

My thoughts on the draw.
Now I have not waited until others had aired their thoughts before I gave mine, as Carol had taken down the Xmas decorations today, I was expected to put together her new coffee table her son had bought her for Xmas. I must say it went together well, but when we looked at how to put the feet on, we found out that what we had as the top, was really the bottom.
The only difference was a really nice silver strip around the outside of what was meant to be the bottom. So we were turning it over so many times and did agree that it looked better with the silver strip on the top and not the bottom. But me being me knew it was now the wrong way up and so we went into an half hour debate as to what we should do.
I wanted to take it apart and turn the two inside parts the other way as they held the sliders for the drawer and put it back together with the silver piece on the bottom, as it was meant to be. In the end fully agreeing it looked better on the top, I fixed the feet to what was meant to be the top, but is not the bottom.
So to the draw, no we did not get Man U, but we got another championship side that while it will be a harder game than Blackpool is still winnable. Plymouth are out of the cup and we are still there into the next round and with some good fortune, could get to round five and how great that would be.
Forget the fact that it is not Man U, but remember yesterday how you felt when we beat Blackpool and in such style, dreams are still there to be made and the club still stand to carry on making money to help it push for promotion.
Lets rejoice that we were in the hat and in with a chance of going further.

For once I entirely agree with Merse. If we play like we did on Saturday, certainly a winable match. Much better than away to Hartlepool or anywhere in the NE. (No, that's not a regionalist comment, just thinking of the travelling!) We now have home games for each of the 5 Saturdays in January. What was so pleasing on Sat was that we didn't really have to raise our game as we have been playing like that anyway.

Quick question of which I don't have an answer. What is the lowest status club to have ever reached an FA Cup Final?. One more. What is the furthest a Non League club has progressed in the competition? |
