Good for him that he remains in the EFL. Good luck to him.

Got my boots in the loft, but feel that age is against me, football wise ☹️

Given that GJ likes players he has worked with previously someone like Alex Addai, released by Cheltenham might be on his list to replace Whitfield or Nemane. Pacy wide/front man who would be a fans favourite.

Pacy wide/front man who would be a fans favourite. They hardly worked together. Addai was signed in May 2018 and Johnson was on his way in the August. Whilst I agree that GJ is the best manager we could have not everything he touches turns to gold. It was around the same time he signed Manny Duku for Cheltenham and look how that turned out.

link - update from Johnson with his weekly chat to Richard Hughes of Devon Live. Nothing much new but still expecting those four that have agreed terms to turn up for training on Monday and I would not be surprised to see them announced around Friday/Saturday time. Seems they were identified before the likes of Cameron, Whitfield and Covolan moved elsewhere so maybe looking at a striker or two, full back and a winger? Hint that there may be some up and coming players that we may not have heard of.

I think people are going to have to be patient this season. GJ has got a rebuilding job on his hands and its going to take time. Might be able to build a team that can snatch a play off place but not one that's going to run away with it like we nearly did last season.

Never know exactly how the team is going to fare in a given season but we have still got 7 starters from the play off final so that is a very good base to start from. Need to replace the quality of Randell, Sherring, Covolan and an out of position Cameron so that equates to 2 wingers, central defender and a goalie plus the strength in depth to cover for injuries.

I would like to see Luke Molyneux from Hartlepool at Plainmoor. Think he has potential.

There is a fair bit of speculation around but hopefully we’ll have some solid news tomorrow and if it follows the format from last season then it will be announced via another Johnson video. We don’t know if all the signings will definitely be announced on Monday and we don’t know if they will all be permanent signings as there is a lot of speculation about loan signings as well.
So just to rehash the numbers, the Johnson brothers have met with five new players, (are the others known?) deals have been agreed with seven of which “two or three have signed two year contracts” There are ongoing negotiations with a further two players and Johnson hopes to have seven or eight signings announced come Monday suggesting one of these is close. With 17 players starting training on Monday over three quarters of the squad will have been assembled suggesting around about 20 players in total.
