The ten players we have got fit perfectly into a 4-2-3-1 formation with rush back goalies.
I see Southgate has copied Johnson’s shape although Harry Kane is no Danny Wright.
Sorry to see Shaun go. He has a great attitude which is so important for a no. 2 keeper. Memories of him running around wiping the ball for long throws at Ashton Gate. I think he loves his football so much that he is desperate to play regularly - something Johnson could not promise him.

Biggest rebuild job for some time and a tough ask for any manager to replace with like for like quality.
We've lost some very good players who are also great characters to have around the club. How the hell can you build a competitive squad for the long term when this happens? Impossible with players on short contracts. My guess is Connor would have also been gone if he hadn't been under contract. Saw him sitting in the sun at Decoy lake with his wife and young baby a week or so after the PO final and shouted over "Hope your staying Connor!" He shrugged as if disappointed at the devastation of the squad. Nemane is sure to next and the final one who wants away. Can't see us being as competitive this coming season and you can be certain GJ will be as pissed as the rest of us and now has a massive task on his hands to improve the quality in the squad. It's a big hit but we do still have a reasonable core though three are at the tail ends of their careers and hopefully have one more season at this level but its getting tougher every year and the standard will improve once again.
Nothing whatsoever coming out of the club regards replacements but that's par for the course. One or two off the wall rumours but that's about it. Anticipate most will be unknowns with potential and maybe one or two returning who were on loan with us. Sherring and Kimbioka would be a bonus and soften the blow IMHO.
Boden? I hope not we will need better to compete with the big boys at the top next season.

link - update from Dave Thomas shows Johnson remains interested in getting Sam Sherring back on loan as he looks to get 8 more signings in, topped up by a few loanees. The advantage we have this year is that league clubs start the season two weeks before us which does mean we might be able to get them during preseason. Not that Sam would need any integration after his very successful partnership with Lewis.

Not the ideal place to ask this, but does anyone have an idea as to why the majority of articles on the BBC Sport website, National League page, are about Wrexham?

Jamie Reid possibly on his way back to Plainmoor? The signs are he is on the way out from Mansfield. No idea if he is Plainmoor bound but would love him back here.

Jamie Reid possibly on his way back to Plainmoor? If we wanted him as our own player it would require a fee being paid and I can't see us paying one. If we got him in loan then I think that means Jamie Reid would have to admit his career , at the age of 26 when he should be approaching his peak, is going backwards. In addition returning players, or managers for that matter, rarely show the promise they did first time around.

As with most speculation and rumours we should take it all with a pinch of salt. GJ will know who he wants in and he has a big job on his hands rebuilding a depleted squad that's at least as good as we had last season. Can't see it myself but always hopeful we can attract the right caliber of player who will fit in and are up to speed from the off. With so many holes to fill now including two keepers it is bound to take time for them to settle in and learn the "Garry way". We had a couple of duds last close season, Nelson and Kerr come to mind, and expect the same with so many coming in but if you can trust anyone to get it right there's no one better than the man in charge. Still no news on Nemane the last one who is holding out for better it seems. Garry will no doubt want answer pretty soon.

The chances of Reid returning is about zero i would think. It would also represent a backward step for him personally to drop out of EFL football. Happy to be proved wrong of course but just can't see it happening.
