Just switched on for the Notts match with cameras scanning the crowd and didnt a single person wearing a face covering. I reckon the people have spoken!

No matter what you write, please keep posting as that cream tea picture makes my day - and takes your mind off play-offs.

Most games I’ve watched, there are mostly no face masks but think it comes down to the local safety advisory group. However, it is outside and the crowd is spaced out so no reason why face masks should be a requirement. Would be a big downside if required…..

Good free kick for Chesterfield to score and take the lead.

Quick response from Notts after a clearance charged down.

If we can get him to spell his Latin correctly, we might be able to get him to put his cream and jam on properly.

Notts it is then, a high quality all action match both sides giving their all but notts just having a little more quality in the end with a mom performance from former gull Mark Ellis. Helped somewhat by chesterfield having to play on with an injured keeper who inexplicably didnt have a keeper on the bench We will need to far better than we were against Barnet if notts play like they did today and so much depending on who we have available. Judging by what ive seen from us in the final games and what i saw today im not particularly optimistic but always as ever hope we can produce a big performance.

Good late goal by Ellis but as you say, their keeper couldn’t come and punch out a deep free kick on the 6 yard line. It means Boden is available and Notts looked vulnerable to the ball over the top with a few one on ones not taken advantage of by Chesterfield. Does mean Boden is available to play for us.

Hartlepool are 3-0 up at half time and seem to be winning at a canter….

Hartlepool are 3-0 up at half time and seem to be winning at a canter…. Bromley did get two back, the second in injury time but Hartlepool held on for the win. So the two lowest ranked teams are eliminated and any of the four left are more than capable of wining the next two games but only one will….

Thought the Hartlepool v Bromley playoff match was typical national league foder compared to what I watched yesterday. What you would expect to see at his level. Far less quality than yesterday on show. I thought Bromley perhaps finished in a position a little above their sation. Fantastic effort though for a team of part timers. Hartlepool did enough - just enough in the end and never really looked in any danger after their three goal first half salvo had more or less put the tie to bed.
Four ex football league clubs now contest the one prize three of which will be hugely disapointed. Had to snigger at some of the dismisive Notts County comments on FB after their impressive display and victory yesterday. Yes they looked a little vulnerable at the back at times but generally looked strong and confident on the ball and going forward and much improved on both of this seasons league encounters. GJ will need a solid plan to get past next saturdays ultra stiff test and hopefully the one that follows. Notts and Stockport do appear to be the two teams in form and on good runs while we would have had to wait a fortnight to find out if we have rediscovered ours after our unbeaten but lack luster finish to the season. We will need to find that form I feel. One thing I have noticed over the two ties that the refereees are not falling for any diving or trying to "buy" fouled and falling over at the faintest touch. Take note Jake Andrews! Gonna be a tough watch I fancy.
