After our worst performance of the season on Tuesday we are in desperate need of a win against relegation zone side Kings Lynn with whom we were unable to break down previously when we were on fire in early December with a 0-0 draw at their place.
Not that they have been easy to beat when up against some of the top sides recently, decent draws, both 2–2 against Hartlepool and Notts County and a narrow one nil defeat against Sutton United which some say they were very unlucky to lose. They have also just bought in a striker Jordan Davies from Telford.
Assuming Moxey will not be fit, ( I know, just go along with me on this one!) then would like to see Law start and play with 4 defenders in their favoured position. If Whitfield is fit then we are a different prospect on the left. Whether Koszela can get a start on the right remains to be seen. Assuming one striker up top, then there is the choice of Boden, Waters and Umerah and a case can be made for anyone of these three but personally think Waters is the better substitute option.

Believe from elsewhere that Warren returns, as does Moxey. But that Whitfield is still out. Don’t know if that is right or not, but my side is based on that.

FORECAST: Torquay 0 ** Kings Lynn 7
** Possibly 1 if we get another penalty but may need a couple to score 1. ⚽️

Don’t know if that is right or not, but my side is based on that. link - David Thomas is reporting that both Moxey and Wright are now back in training but another week or two until they are fit maybe to at least start on the bench. Thoughts are quite similar on our preferred starting lineup.

I don’t particularly want to see Andrews have to consider anything much defensive for us. He’s not interested and the best we have had from him is in the assists/goals categories previously. The worst is defensively.

FORECAST: Torquay 0 ** Kings Lynn 7 ** Possibly 1 if we get another penalty but may need a couple to score 1. ⚽️ Loving the pessimism Stefano, lets hope it works though tried it myself a few times and failed but it does prepare you mentally for the let down..If it happens.. We all have different opinions on players and line ups but surely today will see as many playing in their natural positions as possible though fear Whitfield will once again be missing. For the life of me why did he continue the second half against BW when carrying an injury? Is this part of the problem? Additionally with our drastic drop off in form I can no longer see the point of keeping the injury status of players a secret it just creates rumor and false hope for supporters when we all need a lift or otherwise. We would all like to know the facts and get an honest forecast on injuries. No idea on the progress of our very important players who made us so dangerous and balanced. Cameron, Nemane, Whitfield who played on a week ago and is now out for longer, why? Wright, Moxey, Warren a little bit of news etc etc. I don't see Mac'Donald as the problem for our poor form so wouldn't opt to start a cold Covalan in his place. It surprises me the stick Mac gets it was what was in front of him on Tuesday that was the issue. Always brave=, sometimes rash but always committed and would die for the cause. Means little but I would plump for the following and believe from what I've witnessed the past few weeks the best hope to hit the back of the net. Sadly no offensive width whatsoever other than the wing backs. Koszella may be the only one likely to be able to fill a wide role but again its not really his natural position so would avoid starting him out wide. Our problems do stem from our lack of forward power and why I have chosen a technically limited but committed Umerah over Billy Waters who works his nuts off but is to lightweight and I see the not particularly impressive Boden working off a target man better. We have to persist with those whoa e considered our better players, CLE, Little, Hall etc and hope they can finally click. We all know what they are capable of in a balanced side all are match winners on their day but fear this spell has been very damaging to their personal confidence. As I see it he problem for them is they haven't had the p[layers ahead of them to unload that final ball and why we see so many sideways passes. Hall in particular has suffered with his lack of pace without a hold up player ahead of him and he can look rather foolish when dwelling to long with few passing options. CLE is also suffering because of whats ahead of him and down the flanks and I'm confident he feels he should be doing more but ends up over playing. Its clear our lack of goal threat wide and centrally has put extra pressure on inexperienced defenders as we have persisted with the same open tactics and expecting the same results it was inevitable the dam would break at some point. We have gone from looking like champions to looking lower quality than when we were chasing promotion in the league below. Oh to have Reid, Janneh and Kalala to choose from in today's starting line up. MacDonald. Wynter Sherring Lewis Law Randell Little Hall CLE. Umerah Boden. Subs Koszella Waters Sheef Andrews Covalan

Covolan Wynter Lewis Sherring Law Hall Randell Koszela Lemonheigh-Evans Andrews Umerah Subs: MacDonald, Little, Warren, Boden, Waters I would have the same ten outfield, but pray that Whitfield were fit to start ahead of Andrews. Assuming he isn’t, I think Koszela and Umerah would at least give us a bit of energy going forward. Was shocked to see Law letting old man Hall do his chasing back for him on one of the goals at Maidenhead. I hope that was a lapse of concentration and focus due to inexperience rather than laziness or attitude. I’d be surprised if Warren is fit enough for the bench, so you’d add Buse to the squad. I’m 50/50 on the keepers. Mac not perfect but not as bad as some of the stick he gets suggests.

👍 Absolutely! Got to try it 😂⚽️ I experimented with the power of positive thinking recently. It didn’t work. It takes a lot of time but it does work, I got a fabulous wife and a fabulous house out of positive thinking...takes years though! The problem is, some people try and use positive thinking for negative things and all that brings is negative Karma! Let’s just grab something out of the air here: let us say that you didn’t/don’t like someone on this site...well immediately that’s negative and no amount of positivity is going to over ride that! I have no idea what you were originally referring to, but should you wish to continue it might take years and years and years! 😉

I’d say that’s 4-2-3-1. Boden the one. Andrews in a more attacking role with CLE and Little.
Am not a MacDonald ‘hater’. I just think Covolan is our best ‘keeper. And good to see him back.

Think that is much better balanced. Andrew’s has played most of his games for us left midfield and either scored or assists from there on a regular basis. COYY.
