It's amazing we have stayed top for so long when you look at that list of unavailable players Rob. Nice to see Stewart was disappointed at losing to Woking in the Trophy. Before reading that I thought I was the only one! 😉⚽️

Just watched the highlights bad decision by the officials at the end disallowing a perfectly good goal which would have taken the game to penalties. We should not have needed it though. Apart from missing the penalty there were plenty of clear cut chances. Should have had a second penalty towards the end as well so the ref was overall a bit iffy.
Missed out on a further £80,500 with that result which I am sure our owner would have been grateful for in these difficult times.
Oh well onward we go create as many chances against Hartlepool and we should get the 3 points as it surely would be impossible not to score again from so many opportunities! ⚽️

I can easily see a repetition of 1990/91, which I described on an earlier thread. Yes Stewart you have mentioned that on a couple of previous occasions. I am sure you remember that season ended in a glorious promotion at the old Wembley Stadium on that balmy Friday evening. Without doubt my happiest ever Torquay United experience and with the 30th anniversary approaching i never get tired of those memories.

I seem to remember that 1990/91 season was most unusual with 5 promoted from Division 4 - 4 automatically and 1 (Torquay who had finished 7th) from the play offs - and no teams relegated. ⚽️

I was surprised Umerah did not start, even more surprised when he wasn't first sub used and even more surprised when he wasn't thrown on as we chased the game. I reckon he was not fit to play and was only named on the bench to make things look less desperate than they really were. If I am right, that makes seventeen unavailable.

Only a negative b**tard would point out that we got relegated straight back down the following season. Lucky I am not one.

link - this works and nope, cannot pronounce it either, I still get nightmares about Polish goalkeepers and have done since 1973. Marcin has already made more of an impression than TUFC's last Polish goalkeeper: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Przemys%C5%82aw_Norko

Neither am i and we enjoyed some cracking days out amongst the land of the giants in that 91/2 season. Birmingham, West Bromwich Albion, Stoke City, Fulham and the rest meant we were always going to be up against it.
