Best half of football we have played for a while. Massive 45 minutes coming up, if we can manage to keep Rooney quiet we may have a chance.

Lots and lots of talking points for that one. No way should MacDonald have picked up the first yellow. Thought the ball was live and kicked it out. Second yellow had no where to go once couldn’t get to the ball.
Overall a good performance to get a win at a ground most teams get little change from.

Gotta keep scrapping for wins like tonight and emerge from the injury crisis as soon as Possible.
That was a very important result for us tonight.
Very hard to enjoy a game like that in the second half with so much riding on it.
Not concerned with how we do on Saturday in the tin pot trophy far more important to get players back for the next "Revenge of the Monkey Hangers" game v Hartlepool on thE 6th.
That's a nice gap for recovery time for the likes of Covalan, Little, Cameron etc etc.

I take it MacDonald is facing a one match ban; could the club appeal one of the yellow cards? Also can MacDonald actually serve the ban on Saturday or has it got to be done for a league game?

Such a vital win tonight, and will install some much needed confidence and spirit back to the side. Maybe a turning point and a decent gap until next game may lead to more returning from injury.

Coverage is excellent. No problems with stream . Camera work perfect. Wide enough to see what is going on, close enough to see the players. Sparing use of replays. Informative commentary from people who are actually watching the game. We have played much better than recently, but game far from over. A tough 45 minutes ahead playing into the wind. Agree about the stream and commentary but they called both penalty shouts wrong which the ref got spot on. They insisted our penalty was wrong / very harsh when clearly hit their defender’s arm. Buse was very lucky not to concede a penalty with both arms in the air but ball thankfully hit his side and his arm was of course out of the way. Waters goal was well taken, replays missed the build up with CLE putting in a beautiful pass to put him through. Still had a lot to do and made space for the shot which actually went through the legs of the second covering defender and just wide of their keeper. Did not threaten after that but worked very hard with Buse /Whitfield getting back to cover on the wings. |
