Absolute disgrace Dover not being kicked out the league. Results expunged for this season, £40,000 fine, and a 12 points deduction to start next season. The league management board are a bit of a laughing stock! ⚽️ link - at least we know where we are but a light sentence for them.

As far as the league table goes I don't really see it as making much difference. As well as having 3 points deducted we also have a game deducted.
Sutton were 6 points ahead with a game in hand. They are now 9 points ahead on the same number of games played. The Dover adjustment for Torquay just means that Sutton have 'won' their game in hand without playing it, and on current form they were always likely to win their game in hand in any case.
Same principle with Hartlepool. We were 2 points behind them with 2 games in hand. We are now 5 points behind with 3 games in hand.
The only one of the challengers where it really affects us is Notts County as they lost to Dover, so they lose no points but have a game deducted. That does put them in reach of overtaking Torquay if they win their games in hand. County have not been impressive yet this season so I don't think they will.
We also have to play both County and Sutton again, so there is much still in our own hands. ⚽️

National League clubs consider vote of no confidence against league board... Are we at all surprised? It does seem ludicrous to impose a big fine on a club who decided they couldn't afford to continue without proper funding after all clubs were lulled with the promise of a grant and continued funding. How long did it take for them to make this predictable and unimaginative decision? www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56549165

Well that is one of the Notts County games in hand gone with a whimper. 0-1 home to Aldershot. Life sometimes feels better just because of a game of soccer! 😉⚽️

The 10 points lead for Sutton United over us with 13 games to go is reminiscent of the Woking lead over us 2 seasons ago, and we know what happened there. Sutton will feel the pressure at some point and implode.
All we have to do is win our games to catch them. Sounds simple when put like that! 😉⚽️

Yeovil Town have announced the untimely death of their captain, Lee Collins, at just 32. Their fixture tomorrow is cancelled. Shocking and very sad news.

Just awful tragic news you don't want to hear. I gather he was returning from injury and on the bench for them last week. Very sad news and puts things into perspective

BT Sports must be happy as the table stands. Six big clubs in the televised playoffs - us being the least big!

The three wins in our last four games has boosted our chances of remaining in the top seven. Historically, with a full compliment of teams, 75 points seems to be the cut off point for the final play off place (7th) but taking into account its two games less for all clubs that figure may be a point or two less. Third place we would need to be looking at a total of 80 plus points maybe a little less with two games less for all teams.
My own view is we need a a minimum of 20 points to get a play off place and 30 points to remain in third spot with fourteen games remaining. On current form since 30 January our last fourteen games we have amassed 19 points helped massively by the three wins of late. We have a very tough set of fixtures to finish the season and although we have seen an upturn in results we are nowhere near where we need to be as a team to challenge for top or even runners up spot and our form will have to continue to improve. I feel Sutton would have to implode dramatically to relinquish top spot but it could still happen so I have virtually written off our chances for automatic promotion unless of course we can recapture our pre Xmas form and results on recent viewings that looks t be a bit of a pipe dream. With all of the injury issues and upsets we have had to cope with it would still be one hell of an achievement. We still need the players back in the side who were instrumental in our high win ratio and put us in such a favorable position in the first third of the season
Reaching the play offs in any form is the most realistic forecast IMHO but we will would still need to get key players back and improve to give us any hope for success in that "knock out lottery" come June.
Note: Just realised an error in my post and had forgotten we now have four less fixtures than a normal season with the demise of Macclesfield and Dovers decision to not continue their season. So we now have just 12 games left to accrue the necessary minimum figure for play offs more like 67 points from the remaining 12 matches. You get my drift!

If we can’t get 13 points from the last 12 games then we don’t deserve to be in the play-offs and to be honest would have little chance of success in them anyway. We should be aiming for at least 80 points to see where that takes us – eight wins and a couple of draws or nine wins, something akin to the form of our first 12 games. We actually have a stronger squad now with the only worry being the absence of Whitfield and Nemane.
