link - Johnson talking about the procedures in stage one of training beginning next Monday in his interval with Richard Hughes. Also confirmation that no more signings either permanent or on loan prior to the season starting.

On the subject of crowds coming back into grounds my understanding is that it is divided as follows:
Elite football defined as non league step 2 and above will not have crowds before October. This means that the EFL and Premiership will start with no crowds but will be televised and streamed,
Non league steps 3 - 6 will be able to have limited socially distanced crowds with groups of no more than six and just in the process of clarification by Government.
Non league Step 7 and below is now defined as grass roots football and has been given the go ahead subject to the guidance in that documentation.

Guidance has just been released funny enough and is basically 15% capacity from this Saturday and 30% capacity from 30th August. If you relate that to Tivvy Town, ground capacity 3500, (only 520 seats though) and local derby last season against Taunton getting the highest attendance of 853 with most games less than 300, all under the 1050 30% mark...., |

link - actually the capacity relates to the minimum ground grading at that particular level which in this case is 600 for Tiverton. In this scenario just the one game in a season where demand will exceed this.

I've seen that Newton Spurs are at home to St Austell in the FA Cup on 1st September. Would assume they can let spectators in, but any hopes of a bumper crowd made up of live football starved locals from Plainmoor might be dampened as Buckland are at home to Bitton on the same evening.

Was reading elsewhere that Luke Guttridge is playing for Newton Spurs this season. Age 38 it does make reference to playing for their reserves now and again, though. |

In this scenario just the one game in a season where demand will exceed this. If they apply this in our league, we would be limited to 600 in stage 1 and 1200 in stage 2. If so, I would imagine we would be desperate to have a friendly or two as stage 1, so we could accommodate 1200 for our first league game. Pause in season ticket sales understandable given the uncertainty. Have we sold 600 yet? Could we possibly sell more than 1200? I think last year it was about 1000 sold. Will be a fair number not renewing due to health concerns, but maybe a fair number keen to buy to get priority if capacity limited. |

link - I think there is a campaign going to get the percentages based on the ground capacity as opposed to the minimum league requirements which on those rates gets us up to 975 and then a more manageable 1950.

"Hi Phil - Thanks for getting in touch.
Although the two week priority period for Season Ticket renewals expired on 18th August, the Early Discount rate will still apply to any further tickets offered for sale until 31st August at 5pm. However, with Plainmoor’s capacity likely to be significantly reduced for the forthcoming season due to the continuing impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the club is implementing a structured release of Season Ticket availability ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Further staged releases will follow - subject to review by the club, who are continuing to liaise with all governing bodies including the National League, with further updates appearing on the website accordingly.
We hope to be able to provide further information regarding Season Tickets shortly, however in the meantime we appreciate your continued support and patience.

I thought the date of the 18th applied to those wishing to renew their favourite seats.
The lesson here is to read these things through properly.

Existing season ticket holders will have priority access to renew their season ticket until 17:30 on Tuesday 18th August 2020, enabling them to reserve their seats for next season. After this priority period has ended, any unreserved seats will then be released for general sale in the next staged release of Season Tickets. |

I think they will go on sale again but for a limited period partly while waiting for more information on crowd sizes and partly to keep STH as low as possible for reasons discussed. Looking elsewhere I see a cross party group of MP’s have written a letter to the DCMS asking for fans to come back for National Leagues steps 1 & 2 specifically for pre/season. This makes sense both to raise revenue but also as a test run for the season starting properly with that 15% capacity likely. We also have a situation where fans can now watch National League teams at step 3 grounds and lower so consistency needs to be applied. |

link - only need to look at Exeter to get a feel of the financial impact. They are working on a 20 to 25% stadium capacity, that would equate to 1300 to 1625 attendance for Plainmoor. Exeter are increasing adult tickets by £2 a head. On those numbers there will be an increase in streaming but this would not by itself cover the shortfall but literally every little bit of income helps.
