link - looks like the proposals are out for the national league with clubs to vote on them by Monday. Play-offs just at our level with north and south divisions having top two going up on a points per game basis. No relegation from the north and south leagues. Personally, think this is a good solution and likely to be agreed but we shall see.

Thing is though with only Chorley going down (and they can't really complain) national league South is going to be one team short next season and I was under the impression that there will be no promotion from step3, or is this Bury's get out of jail card?

Thanks for this because I actually read it wrong earlier, it seems it is just the ppg champions that are promoted in North and South with Chorley down. We even things out in the NL at the other end of the table with 2 up to league 2 and either Stevenage or Macclesfield coming down. So maybe as you allude this is the hole that Bury will fill?

link - some more information on the national league play-offs if they do indeed go ahead. Would be played at the end of July. It also seems that York City have tabled an amendment whereby if there are no play-offs in the National League south and north leagues then the top two go up which was how I read things yesterday! Again, seems fair but to the detriment of Fylde and Ebbsfleet.....

I would imagine some of the clubs involved may be considerably under strength due to players contracts ending in May.

link - bit more on the national league play-off proposals which appears to be relevant for steps one and two now. Would mean that four of the six eligible clubs would need to participate for the play-offs to go ahead. Clubs would have to pay for their own testing and no sanctions if any club decides not to go with this process. For our division, relegation wise, this means Chorley are down regardless, AFC Fylde will be down if either the north and south national leagues have play-offs and Ebbsfleet will also join them if both north and south divisions undertake play-offs. A nervous wait for those clubs if this is sanctioned on Monday. Looks like Maidenhead in 21st place can breathe a sigh of relief!

link - possible more good news for those that want play offs at step 2 with government confirming that elite football includes those earning an income from the game.

link - Interesting interview with the Boreham Wood chairman as he talks about preparations for the play-offs but also the impact of the definition of what constitutes an elite club on relegation from and promotion into the National League.

link - National League resolution is now out to the clubs with their vote due back by 5pm on Wednesday 27th June In favour of promotion and relegation on points per game, but it is ridiculous having playoffs. We have discussed playoffs many times before. In normal times, the fact that they maintain interest to the end of the season and generate revenue balances the blatant unfairness. It will cost a fortune to carry out these playoffs in a safe environment. Pure stupidity. Promote the top two on PPG.

link - details from the National league. Interestingly Torquay ended up on over 60 points after extrapolation which is a good effort from a promoted club and hopefully we can continue improving in the new campaign.
