His personality seemed to fit in with the Johnson ethos and with only cover at left back we probably need at least two more defenders so those two would do nicely with 5 players to cover those three positions. Easy to be fixated on Bristol but Johnson has a lot better scope than that. Pity about Tshimanga but only a very tenuous connection at best.

Spoke with Downsie last week, who when asked if there were any more signings in the pipeline mentioned that they were happy with the 15 or so players already signed. Loans and perhaps a couple of signings nearer kick off.....

Looking forward to those loan signings. Right back cover and a first choice centre half are priorities. Dion Sanderson and Aden Baldwin raised so far as players who could cover both.
A winger. Opi Edwards highly probable. What else do people think we need? Are Keating and Koszela sufficient back up to Reid and Duku? I think Keating’s best chance of getting into the side is on the right, but unsure he is a starter if we get Opi Edwards. Maybe another centre-mid, although Andrews is potentially cover there if we get another left/right mid in such as Edwards.
Looks like Dickson will be at left back until Davis is back match fit after surgery.

Looks like another signing coming in this morning- possibly a loan signing alluded to in Devon Live earlier this week? Maybe from Bristol CIty?

link - could Vincent be coming back to Plainmoor? Would make for an ultra competitive midfield. He can play right across it so again gives us more options in case of injury as well.

link- Frankie eventually made his first start for us on the day we got promoted and got MOTM to boot! In his interview with Bournemouth he said “players see me sign, they don’t want to get dropped so they up their quality levels” Also would love to see him back and continue his progression with us.

link - Great to have confirmation that Vincent is coming back on loan again. Will be a massive asset as well being able to play across an extremely competitive midfield.

While unexpected in a good way, this latest signing does not address our lack of defenders and with Davis out and not guaranteed to start the first game of the season, this is an area that certainly needs addressing.
On the upside our central midfield is now looking incredibly strong and gives Johnson many options which is not a bad thing over a long season in a combative area of the pitch. Early days yet but based on what I saw at Bideford my starting XI based on Davis being fit would be:
Covolan
Wynter, Niate, Cameron, Davis
Kalala, Vincent , Little, Andrews
Reid Duku
Subs
MacDonald gk Dickson Koszela Keating Hall

link - looks like Johnson is focusing on getting in 2 more signings. Surely we need at least one defender (Baldwin?) where else? Confirmation that no major injuries to the squad at least. Oh and Happy 25th to Reidy

I know its stating the obvious but we all know that Niate and Cameron are not going to be an ever present 46 game pair of stoppers. We certainly need to bring in a decent centre half at some point because Asa Hall needs to be left in midfield doing what he does best imo. Personally i would like another forward bought in as competition for Reid and Duku. If those front two can knock in fifteen goals each and stop missing penalties i think that will give us a chance.
