Need Ryan back fit and raring to go for his experience and know how for what may be an interesting final few months of the season. I would think he could be back any time soon. For me he is first choice full back cover.... and both Wynter and Davies are just one booking away from suspension !

Given that Davis is a booking away, I would think Lewis is seen as left back cover rather than Dickson. Right back cover I don’t think is Dickson territory - Vincent/Edwards, maybe?

You may well be right but i wouldnt want to see Vincent taken out of midfield now he is settled and purely selfishly i like Lewis on the bench ready to come on and shore things up any time in the game. Hopefully Wynter and Davies can get through the next three games after today to the twenty three cut off. I cant make todays game but COYY !

We have had a nasty run of injuries with the situation not getting better and perhaps our defeat in the FA Cup is the first sign that this is starting to impact on performance. Only five out of a possible seven on the bench with Lewis coming on for an injured Davis and doing well by all accounts.. Following players are now out:
Davis - ankle to be assessed Andrews - ankle - time out to be confirmed Hall - calf - back around late November Edwards - groin - back around early December CLE - ankle - back around mid December Little- back around late January.
Lots of starters in there and disproportionately in the midfield with Davis the only exception but with no specialist left back to cover. Another month and we may be in a lot better place but a worrying situation nonetheless.

Thanks for the recap Rob, not looking good. Not sure if GJ will dip into the loan market or hope that we are there or there abouts come January 1st 2020.

Bloody awful list of injuries to key players. Must be reaching crisis point.

'Terry' joins from ReadingDue to the injury that will put Liam Davis out for a while, we've recruited young Ramarni Medford-Smith from Reading on loan until January (and not until 'June' as would have been far more apt). On field confusion with shouts of 'Armani' and 'Ramarni' shouldn't materialise as the new lad will be instantly christened 'Terry' by his dressing room teammates. link -'Terry' Medford arrives from Reading

I was trying to work out if Lewis could cover either there or in a 3 man central defence with Wynter and Whitfield as wing backs but a loan signing always the best option and sounds like he fits in with Johnson’s match philosophy. Note of warning - we now have 7 loanees leading up to January with “Terry” Cundy, Vincent and Janneh currently indispensable. Lewis is fit to make up the fifth but Edwards and CLE will want a look in when they recover.

He sounds so young. Good luck to the lad. Give him good support front the off tomorrow. We need him feeling settled as soon as possible as assuming he will go straight into the starting X1. In addition to the long injury list, Joe Lewis is on international duty.

Forgot about Lewis on international duty and he has done well to shore things up later on in a match. link - maybe Andrews will start? Good news if he does as think he may have been missed last week.

I see that there are five games in League 1 and three in League 2 postponed because of "international call-ups". If our own game is going ahead with one player absent for this reason, it must mean that at least eight teams have a minimum of two (possibly three or more) "international" players in their squads. Surely players from clubs at the third and fourth levels of the English structure cannot be involved in any of the Euro qualifying matches, so perhaps they are sitting on benches for national teams playing friendlies? When clubs such as ours have six injured players unable to play, it seems ridiculous to me that others can call off their games when a couple of their players are missing because their countries need them to make up the numbers.

In Lewis’s case it is U21 international duty. Dare say that is similar for a good number of those missing League 1 and 2 matches. The 16 we put out tomorrow are more than good enough to beat Sutton if they play to the levels they have been. Would be very welcome if Andrews is back and able to play a part.
Saikou to score tomorrow, I reckon.
