Reg It could be that the all powerful triumvirate required to maintain order in the unruly TFF Matchroom section may well agree with you Reg. As the Colombia match thread has been culled entirely. No need to fret - just not stickied which it has now

AJ, no "Pablo Escobar, Shakira, Carlos Valderrama, Juan Pablo Montoya....your boys took one hell of a beating !!!" (must admit, that's exhausted my knowledge of Colombians)

You're right DVN,there was scope for far more crowing if we'd felt in the mood. Penalties left me exhausted and just ready for bed. Well done on remembering Montoya. I've just about heard of Shakira, but wouldn't have known if she was from Cullompton or Colombia. Your knowledge of Colombians puts mine in the shade. Swatting up on famous Swedes (Is there anyone other than Bjorn Borg and Abba?) would be tempting fate, so I'll leave that alone as well

I’d add Stefan Edberg, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henryk Larsson, Ingmar Bergman and Stieg Larsson to that list, albeit two are deceased. Frida from ABBA could have turned out for Norway in her prime. Other Colombians, I’m going to plump for Rene Higuita.

Guardianista Rob Oh dear. After a struggle I'd only managed to come up with Sven and Ulrika. Betraying a mind nurtured on the tabloid Daily Mai I suppose. Guardian 6 Daily Mail 2. Suffering this crushing defeat will stand me in good stead for the 'Brexit' that Theresa announces soon .

It's reckoned he had a bit of a guilt trip over the dynamite thing when it started being used by Irish terrorists.

Nearly paid the ultimate price on Saturday...listened to the England game and nearly fell off a ladder! My own fault really, because even listening to the first twenty minutes of the match was enough to put me into a catatonic state! I did though sit down on Sunday, and think about what has been added to the England team to gain them a place in the semi-final of this competition for the first time in twenty eight years! I had thought of making my mind still, and going into analytical meditation (Vipassana) in order to ascertain an answer to my own question. Then I realised I didn't have to...because I already knew the answer! Which was good...because I'm crap a meditation! Of course the answer is not what has been added to the England team...but what...or to be more precise 'Who'...had been left out! To which I'll give you one 'God Damn Guess'...Wayne (The Zimmer-Frame) Rooney! How many England games have I watched, where Rooney would start (when didn't he start) and you could tell by his demeanour that he wanted to be somewhere else (probably with his wife who was on her 78th holiday of the year) and couldn't be arsed about playing for England! It's a heavy cross to bear being right all the time...but someone has to do it!

Well, two things I won't be doing tonight; climbing a ladder or watching football! Playing a team tonight who they should stroll past...like all the other teams they have played to get this far! On saying that though, they did put out almost a reserve side to take the easy route! Who beat them again (my memory) Dawlish or someone of that ilk! Yet another example of the snowflake generation! They just can't be arsed to do anything...work/play football/vote/get out of f**k**g bed! I think England will actually win the World Cup this year! Everyone will shout and cheer and sing 'Football's coming home!' For me though...they have missed a golden opportunity!

For me though...they have missed a golden opportunity! How can actually winning the thing be regarded as a lost opportunity? As to Croatia being a team we should stroll past, you don't actually know much about football, they have players from the top clubs in Europe including two from Real Madrid and one from Barcelona.

Register At least the half British President of the United States is coming home over the next few days. Isn't it wonderful to have an ally eager to put us to the head of the queue, rather than Obama who hated our guts, and the first thing he did as President was order that the bust of Churchill got slung out of the Oval Office. But if England were to win it, it would be some achievement to overcome the French side with some of the exceptional talents it's comprises, and also taking into account their additional day's rest and preparation for the final. Of course there's still the little matter of the semi final to successfully negotiate first, but locally you can already see the fear in the eyes of Peugeot, Renault, and Citroen owners.....and those reliant on 'street parking' realise the fate that awaits their vehicles if Harry & our brave lads have their dreams shattered by Mbappe, Matuidi, and Macron. Do I offer the sanctuary of my double garage or not? But what guarantee is there that I won't just be protecting the vehicle of a Remain voting Renault owner? A dilemma I'll have to wrestle with more seriously IF England reach the final. Enjoy the match, Reg.

Is it talking out of your arse week at your house, Reg? Isn't it every week? Excellent performance by our side. Very young squad and get to the semi-final of a World Cup. Can see them really progressing well in the next two World Cups (maybe not win them - but hey that is bloody difficult!). Well done Mr Southgate and team. They made me very proud and happy (an achievement in itself!)
