On Saturday evening the manager, assistant manager and first team coach of hungerford town resigned en masse. Sounds to me that they have something lined up somewhere. Well spotted Pete! Bobby Wilkinson is a guy who knows the non-leagues like the back of his hand, rarely needs to dip into the transfer market (good man-motivator) and comes from a club where his budget restraints will be far tighter than at Plainmoor. I note he has significant experience under some of the top names in football too so may be able to attract some good youth loanees and help develop them. The mass resignation out of the blue just as KN was shown the door would suggest a bit of talking has been taking place already. Maybe an appointment will be made before my visit to Plainmoor on Saturday... fingers crossed!

We all hope for a sound appointment but worth recalling we are TUFC where expectations are not always matched with good news!

We all hope for a sound appointment but worth recalling we are TUFC where expectations are not always matched with good news! What will be regarded as good news Simon? I haven't really got a clue anymore and have no idea who, how or what will be able to dig us out of this bottomless trench of failure. With no news whatsoever coming from the club its left for us all to speculate. A caring Chairman /board would have issued a "rallying cry" by now wouldn't they? The whole situation fills me with dread in all honesty I believe the owners will bring in a yes man who will have to tow the party line. They care little about how the squad performs or where it ends up in the long term and their agenda is ultimately to make money one way or another and have been trying to keep the public sweet to fend off objection and gain ground on their proposals. Clarke Osborne and his fellow bed mates haven't suddenly fallen in love with this football club believe me. I could see Nico going to Wealdstone or Hungerford and having success while we continue to falter under new management. Now that would be painful to watch.

Not going to be Wilkinson who has chosen a bigger club to further his ambitions (Wealdstone)! Suspect we could end up with Tully (total pants) or somebody as uninspirational as that!

Maybe an appointment will be made before my visit to Plainmoor on Saturday... fingers crossed! There's not a shred of evidence we have been talking to him. There may be an announcement but I'd bet the farm it won't be saying he's coming to us. Who needs evidence when you're speculating about a new manager? Anyway, he's chosen the other club that has a managerial vacancy.... the mighty Wealdstone. Evidence provided above

A manager having good contacts is pointless, as he won't be able to utilise them at TUFC as it stands today.

That would confirm we are a laughing stock. We need a proper manager to be appointed, not a cheapskate and his dog.

Cox has resigned at barrow unfinished business at tq1 ? Does well on big budgets. Gets hacked off when they are not forthcoming. I recall Nico felt the players were unfit after Cox left. That will have wrankled. Gut feeling is this is too much of a coincidence and he is about to be unveiled either as our Manager or, after a sacking, Hartlepool Manager.

Cant see this happening too many bridges burned during his last appointment. Never had the chance to show his real worth though had to rush a squad together and was gone before he could put his mark on the style of play, fitness etc. He is however just the type we need, canny tactically, given support competent in the transfer market and not to close personally to the playing squad.
