..... who has recently infiltrated the forum Is that a bit of nonsence Pete or is it just me? How do you infiltrate a forum? You have to register and you are either accepted or not accepted by the forum admin. If you prove in your postings to go against the ethos of the forum then the forum admin can remove you. He makes it absolutely clear with his poster name exactly who he is so he is hardly infiltrating. My poster name disguises me far more effectively (although I am not at all bothered about people knowing me of course). You wondered in your post how many times merse btpr had seen Moore play. Well quite a lot actually. He regularly gets to away games within touching distance of London (and that includes places like Dover, Eastleigh, and FGR which are not exactly London). He also has coaching qualifications and experience so I am always interested in his thoughts on players (though I don't always agree with them). Still, that's just my view of course and you Pete are entitled to yours. As you were on dot.com yourself though you could have cut out the middle man and just challenged what you didn't agree with yourself (if you are not registered I am sure you would have been able to infiltrate the forum!)

Moore is substantially down the list of players that the Plainmoor faithful want to see replaced. If he can be persuaded to re-sign for us then I'd also be quite happy with that. He's just got that one and only full season under his belt, will have found it hard going at times, but also learned a lot as well, and given the undoubted natural ability he's got, I can understand why Kev would wish to retain him.
The first time I saw Moore was in a floodlit evening game at Plainmoor. An early corner against us, and when the ball came across and was suddenly plucked out of the air with arrogant ease, it took a split second to realise it was a goalkeeper, and not Cap'n Angus with a rush of blood who was responsible. So conditioned to seeing Torquay United goalkeepers, in the mold of Rice or Lavercombe, rooted to their line for corner kicks, that a keeper advancing and cleanly claiming the ball, was a totally unexpected but pleasant surprise.
Moore invariably threw the ball out in that game, but often with a little too much pace and ahead of the full backs to run on to. Early in the second half and this had happened once to often, and so Dan Butler bellowed at Moore sufficiently loudly that everyone in Bristow's Bench jumped out of their seats, and the message that throw outs should, from then on be delivered to Dan's feet, was understood.
Moore does sometimes come for impossible balls, almost like a youngster who hasn't been involved in the game for a while and is desperate for a touch, whereas he should more sensibly have held station. His kicking will never be his strong point, and it's still a little bit of pot luck where it'll go. But if we judge him on the bread and butter stuff of keeping the ball out of the net then he's a good keeper, and one with the potential to get even better.
A touch of the Gary Sprake's about him and that's unlikely to change, but is something Kev is obviously content to live with. I'm all for strengthening every position in the team, but Kev's funds will be limited (Hector's season ticket money still hasn't arrived) and I'm expecting him to use what cash he has got to lure quality players to strengthen us in other positions first.
I'd be happy to see Brendan Moore back between the sticks next season.

I would be happy to see Moore accept. I notice Olejnik has been released by Exeter. Rumours on btpir that Ryan Bowman and centre-back, Josh Gowling, are about to sign for us.

Do Moore and Richards have a certain date in which to respond to the contract offer?

Do Moore and Richards have a certain date in which to respond to the contract offer? Think it was meant to be yesterday.

Dagenham seem to be putting together a good squad Bondz N'Gala, Williams, Sparkes and some highly rated player from Boreham Wood.
Location, location, location eh?

I was at a programme fair in London on Saturday and was having a chat with a Boreham Wood fan about our clubs situations. It seems Dagenham are paying at least £800 a week...so i would imagine thats probably double what we can offer for starters...

We have signed Jake Goslin - not a bad player by any means and he should compliment those team mates we have already signed up. Should also contribute to improving the overall team capabilitiy, especially if we can add a few more of similar ilk?

Wonder if we will see any new signings during the week ahead? All gone a little quiet currently - hope the money hasn't run out already!

Let's remain optimistic for the time being. As long as it's a joint venture, with the fans continuing to contribute to the Transfer Fund and buying Season tickets, then I'm sure Clarke will keep to his side of the bargain and the investment will remain flowing. Pitch improvements, more great signings, Player of the Season retained, top notch brand name to supply the kits etc etc. However should the fans just sit back, without backing Clarke's plans with their own hard cash, or worse still encourage the Council to obstruct our plans to grow the business, increase our revenue, and head up the leagues (#climbingwithClarke), then any sensible owner would reconsider their plans....after all Thea could soon testify how quickly the money disappears in very large amounts if there aren't up to date income streams to counter the outflow. As long as you've got your season ticket, your Nike Home and Away kits on order...or sent in a £50 donation requesting a signed photograph of Clarke, then your conscience should be clear .
