Jon - the player in your profile picture? He seems familiar. It is Torquay United's very first legend - William Waring Clarke Pitts. Played for us 1899-1902 and (probably) under an assumed name 1903-1904. The pic is snipped from the one on page 153 of the Centenary History.

Very pleased to hear of Luke Young signing today. Great news. Really enjoy watching him play - can't say that for many TUFC players recently. He has shown tremendous spirit and determination battling back from two serious injuries. Had it not be for those injuries, I'm pretty sure he would have moved onwards and upwards by now. Let's enjoy him while we can.

Bit of a let down for supporters after the good news of Keating and Luke Young. May have to prepare for worse if Moore and McGinty turn down offers. Time for Hedges to prove his worth so lets just see what hes made of. www.devonlive.com/pair-turn-down-new-deals-and-leave-torquay-united/story-30356329-detail/story.htmlBurt how embarrassing when the publication cant even publish a picture of the actual player. That's an Irish looking Arman Verma I reckon on the Herald website.. Come on buck up Herald!!

I don't think it's a decision based on the money they were offered but travel, lifestyle and family for both of them. Shame but when we're at the arse-end of the country and can't offer long-term stability...

McGinty most certainly has the potential to do and "Angus" who was just as raw when he first arrived on loan. Good signing hope he kicks on from last season when he showed real glimpses of why he was rated early in his career. Physically he has all of the attributes need in the game. Wouldn't be surprised to see Anderson or Galifoco resign at some point both gave it there all in the final stages of last season and both genuinely nice guys. Would like to see Brendan Moore resign now and that would be the spine sorted and a good starting point.

All good signings so far. ...hopefully Moore and Williams next! Kieffer Moore would also be a great addition if we can afford him.

Thanks Rob. I knew about that one. Our hero was running a massive wallpaper factory in Southall which exported such quantities of designer wallpaper (designed by the great man himself) to the USA that the country could ill-afford to lose its contribution to the balance of payments. WWCP finally joined the Air Force in May 1917 and the factory burned down in September 1917. reader.exacteditions.com/issues/3586/page/30

Shame about Sparkes and Verma, but far more important to sign up McGinty and Young who are "spine of the team" players.

A solid and reliable centre half at this level. Very pleased he has stayed with us.
