I was going to say it was as recently as last year that we were debt free but the previous board treated their investment as a debt to be recouped which they failed to do along with the viability of the club.

I see that Jared Hodgkiss has been released by Kidderminster.

We had money chucked at the club by a previous benefactor and although promotion was achieved, the walls came tumbling down when that funding was removed. Imagine if the millions required were ploughed in but promotion wasn't achieved, the club continued to lose money and the owners decided to call it a day. If they were to require repayment of those monies then the club really would be dead and buried. Whatever Osbourne's intentions toward the club are, surely the sensible way forward is to build the business utilising projects off the field; a gradual process maybe, but one that would see the club hopefully achieve the hoped-for success, but in a sustainable way. I wonder if fans only want to have Osbourne spend the sort of money that would get promotion back to the league to alleviate the fears that he is in fact a predator. Who knows what the true intentions are as regards our club, but throwing that sort of money at it won't achieve the stability needed at Plainmoor. I have no idea myself, but I would rather a sensible plan be put into operation than a gung-ho approach that could see us finished. And so the question has to be asked, just who was responsible for the walls coming tumbling down and the decline into the perilous state that we are now in? Nobody seems to be willing to own up or come clean and give us the facts! Do all the previous administrations think that the Club was run correctly and on a professional basis? The only ones, apart from the supporters, who cannot be blamed for the previous mismanagement and potential incompetence are GI - they have played their cards very well to their own advantage. It is the supporters who have been misled and, in effect, screwed. Any business plan, sensible or not, cannot put right the past and it is very difficult to see how it will turn around our fortunes.

I see that Jared Hodgkiss has been released by Kidderminster. Wouldn't mind him coming back here. Am guessing we would be a favourite for his signature.

We should stand a reasonable chance. Even after returning to Kidderminster, didn't Jared turn up to the game at Solihull to support us ? Of course, the more supporters that refuse to renew their season tickets, the less chance Nicho has of having the necessary funds to bring useful players like Jared Hodgkiss to Plainmoor

Players under contract for 16/17:
Sam Chaney Damon Lathrope Ruairi Keating
So 2 already under contract and one signing. Perhaps, Some cause for concern over lack of progress suggesting money is still very tight and what sort of squad will eventually be signed?
Like it or not there is still a lot of uncertainty about the ownership with the freehold being required to `underpin investment' or more realistically to facilitate some sort of land deal and maybe that will impact on players decision to sign for us?
Congratulations to supporter owned Exeter City getting to the play off final by the way....

rjd, in your rush to get onto the pro TUST propaganda section of your post, some inaccuracies with basic facts have occurred. I'm sure that players under contract for 17/18 would be more relevant at this stage Congratulations to the Lions of Millwall who have now roared back to the Championship, despite the scandalous underhand tactics used by their local far left Labour Council to make life as difficult as possible for them.

If GI got the freehold there would still be a lengthy delay before the bull dozers went in. I expect we are only offering one season contracts so the players wouldn't be affected.

Possibly, but what will happen if they don't get the freehold?

Its all a balancing act in reality though isn't it? We could sign him on a 2 year contract only for him not to progress and be a bench warmer. That's budget wasted then (Cruise and Craig spring to mind recently). Any player is a gamble, particularly youngsters and I'm not sure we have sufficient budget to carry passengers.

It is all a balancing act. If he's doing well and scoring regularly there's nothing to stop us offering him a 3 year contract and improved terms at the end of October.
