Yes, the squad is bulging with the sheer numbers of players signed-up so far! Positive thought though - things maybe a little sparse but thus far the squad quality and experience does seem more promising than the past couple of seasons but we do need 3-4 more key signings to beef things up. We were discussing this at work yesterday and our opinion is that the squad is on a par with last year, just waiting (I guess) for a back up keeper, winger and 20 goal a season striker  I would rather have kept Sparkes and Williams, but in the main I have been impressed with the recruitment so far. Fitzpatrick and/or Lee would be decent additions as hinted at by the Herald. Back up keeper wise, the lad Osborne who went to Saints sounds a worthwhile shout, too. As AJ says, the striker will be the one we are waiting and waiting on. Just like last year when Blissett left. It's a shame we didn't have someone who "guaranteed goals" under our noses. We look light on cover in central midfield to me, too. Although I am expecting "Gallifuoco the Utility" to fill that hole. Mmmmm - wonder if he was a possible joiner at some stage? Worrying if this was the case if he (and others) don't sign for us perhaps?

It's a fascinating tussle as King Kev and GI again today demonstrate their intention to drive forward as they press harder on the accelerator, while TUST frantically attempt to pull up the handbrake. If Clarke has to keep the new stadium plans in the drawer for a few more months, while an ejector seat can be fixed under TUST by the end of the year, well he's a patient sort of chap, used to a few temporary roadblocks along the way....but he'll know how to clear them  Now it's time to forget the Luddites, the Militants, and the flat earth fans who see the new kit, the new website, the super new squad, and scream 'Stop all this progress, I want to get off !' When the dust settles TUFC will go marching on towards it's bright future and the TUST Dinosaur Alliance will be left where they are now; pointlessly waving an ACV that 'protects' the Plainmoor swimming pool ! So what's today's good news ? King Kev recruits a big strong midfield powerhouse ! Yan Klukowski, who was with York City last season. Well capable of providing the strength and effectiveness needed for the muck and nettles aspects of midfield combat. Squad seems to be shaping up nicely, on paper at least. So much more experience In the squad along with our promising youngsters.
Bodes well and each and every player that's been signed I have researched former club supporters opinions and in the most part all have been favorable.
There the ones that count you don't get a more honest appraisal than that.
We have to be cautious with our expectations as we all know too well how it can all go tits up but this better planned squad, with the addition of one or two more
should at least see us pushing higher up the table and away from the relegation quick sand.

Reid, returns. Yes the squad is shaping up,nicely. Ummm just talking to the wife about getting a season ticket. But not sure if it'll be the family stand or the bench?

Reidy wasn't spectacularly good last season. Head down in possession, awareness poor, shooting powerful but often woefully inaccurate. If he'd been in the top category of earners at the club, you'd decide to use your money elsewhere this season I suspect. A future at Exeter, particularly as he's spent the bulk of his playing time away from there for some time, must be a very remote possibility. Neither has he impressed sufficiently that we want to snap him up with a tempting contract. However, I've no real objections to Jamie coming back, initially for 6 months it seems. As far as the wage bill goes, assuming there's still a contribution from Exeter, then his services are available to us for a relatively insignificant cost. Also, should we have a decent team, getting decent results, we could witness his game get lifted just by having a better standard of teammates around him. I don't think we've got a lot to lose from this latest agreement. Relatively little outlay, and a fairly versatile player who can cover some ground. Reid has a lot to gain. He's still in his early twenties, and Kev might just be putting together a good team that young Reidy can fit into on occasions, and raise his game as a consequence. Maybe not an automatic starter this August, but Kev will be pleased enough with his attitude, and it's a really good chance for him to get things back on track and lift his game a notch or two. I hope it works out.  |

Agree, as how long is everyone slagging it all off and calling for Nicho's head? Support them at the turnstiles if you can and rein in expectations. Pity I put all my money into opposition clubs up here unlike the likes of Mr Bastard. |

Hopefully we will sign a centre forward. Keiffer Moore on loan would be great. I also wonder if it is worth going back to York City and taking a look at Jon Parkin. Parkin is now 35, but is big and experienced. Not sure what his last season for York produced.
