Two in, Keating and Anderson - virtually unknowns - can they improve the squad and not come here to just it on the bench making up the numbers, that's the big question.

Would be great if they were hidden gems but KN has previously signed 4 or 5 players who were "young and/or hungry" unknowns who came and went without many getting on the pitch let alone even warming the bench so we will have see what boxes these two tick!

Keating is a forward who has joined on non contract terms - linkAnderson is a defender on a contract until the end of the season - link

Something we all want to know. Is there a focus on business / money making opportunities as opposed to the football side now or are the owners keeping a low profile until formal ratification is signed off (whenever that may be this month) meaning we are stuck in a sort of limbo period? However, moves to acquire the freehold awaited for neither ratification or consultation.... Who needs to ratify or consult on a ground purchase, aside from the prospective purchasers and the owners of said property? We already know it meets NL standards so there is nothing required from the NL on any transfer of ownership. Even if it has to be reinspected by the NL after any change of hands, that shouldn't be a concern.
I was talking about the ratification of the takeover by the GI subsidiary by the NL prior to making a move for the ground as it does seem a bit previous otherwise. The consultation was in their statement* on takeover when making a 5 year plan, again the fundamentals of obtaining the freehold should surely be included in this? * Our initial work is to ensure that the Club is stable whilst compiling a 5-year plan to secure the Clubs future and bring high level football entertainment to Torbay. I hope that everyone will be involved in this, including supporters, sports and local football organisations, the local authority and the community at large. Success on and off the field cannot be guaranteed but we can improve the odds by working together and I hope that in the weeks and months ahead we can do just that, work together. Everyone's input in the future direction of the Club is welcome and we plan to hold a forum to launch the work on the Club’s 5-year plan early in the new year. www.torquayunited.com/news/article/2016-17/tuafc-statement-3479254.aspx

rjdgull That's a consideration, and equally RSL might feel it is a bit presumptuous to convene an official fans forum, particularly if it would mean setting out plans, when the NL haven't as yet, actually ratified your ownership. G.I through their numerous dealings with Local Authorities up and down the country will know how slowly these official bodies work...and you really need to get your proposals under the Council's noses as early as possible to even get the small cogs in their long drawn out processes starting to turn. I'm happy enough with G.I getting their people in, and then getting their heads down to work for the time being. 'Bringing high level football entertainment to Torbay' is a sufficiently big enough goal to set yourself, that if a plan to achieve it could be cobbled together in 5 minutes, I'd be very sceptical. A well thought through plan ready by April rather than half baked ideas presented in mid February is fine by me, and may well carry more credibility. G.I haven't had much to say, but they'll have judged the mood, realised they'd be wasting their breath anyway, as it's what they do and not what they say that most made clear would be the criteria on which they'll be judged. If their publicity machine had been first priority for them, churning out highfalutin schemes, I can think of some who'd have been only to ready to be critical of that. Just as President Trump has been advised that whatever concessions he made to those already protesting on his Inauguration Day, they would never be enough, and that those people are never going to support him, we have those who were already firing off petitions to the Council even before the National League have ratified G.I's takeover. Don't waste time catering for your critics, would be my advice. Appease them on one point, and they'll quickly move on to start blaming you for something else. If G.I don't currently have power to drain the TUST militant swamp, the next best thing is to ignore it. Make public pronouncements when you're good and ready, and above all guard against dancing to the tune of the militants.

'Militant swamp'? I hadn't realised I had been wallowing in one of them AJ. I suppose the nearest I got to being a militant was when I considered joining the Poll Tax protests when I was in London but the Student Union held more allure! All in know is that Michael stepped into the void when no other would get of their arse and do anything. For that he deserves nothing but the utmost praise. I shall have to look out for copies of the Communist Worker dropping through my letterbox from now on or start wearing wellies...

Most would not want to be apologists for GI I suspect? Just AJ, I think. It is sufficient for him that GI or subsidiary do nothing other than deal with the Mayor about land for the time being. One of his previous "mainstream" mad missives suggested it is not until next season that they need to invest. It could be that an ongoing City of London Police investigation reportedly into "bribery and corruption" at GBGB according to the author at the link below may have been seen as more worthy of consideration than little old Torquay's fortunes on the pitch at some point over the last few days and weeks. GI are quite involved in that industry, as we know, with Bill Glass listed as one of GBGB's directors. www.greyhoundtrainersassociation.org/news/

Confess that I struggle to find anything much positive that GI have actually done?

Why is FG 'remarks' missing from the quote?
