Herald link BBC report linkNo wonder there is no news emulating from the club if the chairman thinks it is all up in the air. Wonder what the 2pm meeting will bring?

I think you'll find Bateson was the last one to oversee a break-even at the end of the season but he operated in a very different world to now. In his day he sold players to balance the books and relied on loan signings to fill the gaps, safe in the knowledge that it was very unlikely that we would not be reelected to the league if we finished bottom. I'm pretty sure at one stage our team was entirely loan signings. As soon as prom/rel between the Football League and Conference came in that model was doomed. As I've said before, Thea and Paul's money just papered over the cracks. Had it not done so we would have been where we are, 10 years ago. Re-election was scrapped in 1986, Mike Bateson didn't take over until 1990.

At the risk of stating the obvious. ...This doesn't look good.

I find it difficult to understand some of the nasty views being expressed on another site regarding Dave Phillips and the boards original investment and why they should volunteer to relinquish those sums for the sake of the club. Why the f**k should they? They came in volantarily and held off his sittuation for 18 months and have tried in ernest to secure an investor. It is being implied by the usual suspects that deals have been lost on this point bnone of which can be substansiated and I would go as far to say as slanderous. Is that really the case or just another way of sticking the knife into the very people that have meerly delayed the inevitable? Ididnt see many putting their hands up to throw the club any other sort of lifeline at the time and now they are being villified for having the guts to step in. Disgusting.

According to Herald Express we have been sold to Gaming International. Guess all we can do now is hope their intentions are honourable and that they are interested in taking the club forward. Time will tell....

So the dreadful deed has been done by the bunch of miscreants "running" TUFC. If the last few years have been bad, that's nothing compared to what lies ahead as TUFC slides into oblivion. Come back Chris Roberts, all is forgiven! A massive really sincere and heartfelt thank you to David Phillips for doing such a stunning job - now feck off!

What the f+ did you expect? A so a called businees losing money hand over fist with little prospect of change. Sure Phillips and co wern't going to hang around any longer waiting for for salvation while they continued to wrack up even more club and personal debt. Not surprised in the least the demise of TUFC as we knew has been on the cards for years it has only been delayed.
Gaming International were the only bidder willing to take it on in the end and held all of the cards. Whatever their motives, track record etc us lot will just have to get used to the idea or walk away but then taht would be prety easy for us supporters as we only have an emotional investmet. Simple.

This may be naive, but I think most fans were less than optimistic when KN was appointed manager. He has proven to be a very capable manager and exceeded expectations. I know many fans are concerned about GI ( totally understandable given their track record ) but it seems to me we have no option but to get behind the club and hope GI prove their worth. Signing a few players, confirming KN as manager and sorting out transport to away games would certainly be welcome first steps. Pie in the sky perhaps, but not sure there is an alternative.

What the f+ did you expect? ...... Not surprised in the least the demise of TUFC as we knew has been on the cards for years it has only been delayed. I expected exactly what has just happened. I suspect most of us expected the same despite Phillips' comments at the forum and Clarke Osbourne's quote to ITV Sport barely a week or so ago. I heard Clarke Osbourne's Stadia UK public comments regarding Reading Speedway for years after the stadium was pulled down and the Club ceased to be. I can't bear thinking history may repeat itself with our Club as events at Reading saddened me a great deal. Well done Dave Phillips. Transitional chairman for your 'not the best of bedfellows'. I'm looking forward to supporting the team on Boxing Day with a heavy heart.

But isn't that precisely what supporting a football team is all about?
