Wonderful news - not often we get a good news story, let's hope there are a few more over the next few days. Interesting to learn of restructuring plans proposed by Football League for 2019 - 5 divisions of 20 teams. All we have to do is finish in the top 8 in 2018/19 and we could be back in the league!

Consolidation after a season plagued by injury at somewhere he knows will have tipped him over the line, I reckon. He's obviously built up a good relationship with Gareth Law. Every little helps to get your man. Really pleased with this news. As mentioned elsewhere, a spine of Moore, MacDonald, Young and Blissett to build from would be a great start. 3 to go on that front, though. If this makes any of them think harder about staying, that would be great. The quick dollar Tyrone Marsh took didn't work out too well for him last season, although that dirty get Payne leaving might assist next season if he's still on their books.

Fabulous news, I hoped he would. I know money and his future career is important but I thought Lukey may well be swayed by 1) staying in Devon and 2) the fabulous team spirit that Nicho has built up at Plainmoor.

On other sites seem to be rumours that Butler and MacDonald along with Blissett are off to pastures anew. That could knock a serious hole in any progress made thus far! One step forward, two or three back!

One step forward, two or three back! You don't always get to keep who you want and with a very low budget and the uncertainty hanging over the club at present makes this doubly hard! Out of interest, we were ninth in our division by attendances last season - link - rather worryingly Kidderminster were eighth averaging 1 more fan per home game more! However, the lowest 2 sides in this table - Welling and Boreham Wood were relegated. Our budget is eye watering tight and despite hints that GI would be "investing" in the club this does not appear to be on the cards. I can only see a bare minimum number of players signing supplemented by some loan signings.

Nicho, according to the Sunday Janner will be registered as a player next season and hopes to challenge Butler for the number 3 slot

Backing up Butler makes perfect sense, one less player to bring in! Playing himself and pushing Butler out of position was a mistake that did not in any way improve our results!

If this means he is confident Butler will stay, that is the only positive I could take from this snippet. That said, as emergency back-up, budget will surely mean he'll have to do. It is no coincidence we did better with Nico on the touch line and I loved him as a player for us at his peak. I hope to see him continue on the touch line, where he has done best for us this time around.
