Obviously there is a great deal of uncertainty with the club ownership issue but I hope that Nico does stay! He has gone from zero to hero amongst fans to an extent that there will be a bit of an outcry if he is rewarded with a P45.
I am not aware of there being any players under contract past June so it is imperative that we have a manager sorting out a squad for August asap. If it is Nico, it is likely that he will attempt to sign the majority of his relegation beating squad, including some of those on loan. However, dependent on having a budget and maybe now that we are safe, it gives us the breathing space to resolve this and Try to hit the ground running.
As always, there will be many twists and turns and I hope the club is able to be competitive come next season....

Funny old game this. I am fairly certain most Torquay fans thougt the board had made a mistake when they appointed KN.However I am equally certain most fans would be upset if KN is not at the helm at the start of next season.A game of two halves? The next few weeks will certainly be interesting. This season has had more ups and downs than a camel ride through the desert.

Not sure if anyone has read this article on the BBC Sport website: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/36130385in which the following comments by Kevin Nicholson are extremely concerning: "I would like to be the manager here next year," Nicholson told BBC Devon. "I would like to be given the chance to move forward. "But new owners may have new ideas, and if they have then I'll carry on being a Torquay fan and hope my chance comes again." "We've been fortunate enough to make sure that the club is in the league it needs to be in for now, because this is a league football club, but they're coming into a club now that they can do with as they wish." It very much sounds as though he is already expecting, or perhaps sensing, that he will not be offered a new contract in the summer. If that is so, then the death knell of the club will be ringing loud and clear, as I cannot imagine how the new owners believe that they will find a better manager, that is if they know any at all. What a disaster it will be if they decide to appoint another Lubos Kubik. He is unlikely to want to retain any of the players brought in by Nicholson, because he will not know them, and even if he does want them, they are most unlikely to accept playing under someone else after the success and team spirit achieved during the past 16 games. All of Nicholson's work will have gone to waste and the fans, if any are left, will have to face another season of dismal failure.

I think Nico finds out what is what this week but would be really disappointing if he is not reappointed. I am not sure if anyone will remain under contract come the summer so a massive rebuilding job is required if someone else starts from scratch....

That would be a comical outcome if true. Beginning to wonder what direction the new and as yet largely unknown owners wI'll take the club in;
1. Will they really care about the club and want to develop it around the existing framework with a view to getting back into the Football League? 2. Will they seek to take forward plans to expand the range of facilities through moving to a new location whilst strengthening the football side of things? 3. Will they simply exploit any opportunities to make a killing for themselves and their cronies whilst at the same time bleeding the club dry?
Optimism fading! Answers on postcard!

Feck - Harrop - if true he is unproven, uninspiring and perhaps unwelcome with the potential to be unsuccessful. All beginning to smack of blatantly seeking self interest and slimy ego tripping. One step forward and ten steps backward - perhaps into the mire of destruction? Club currently being run by Muppets who look to be passing it on to Morons??

It would be farcical if Nicho isn't given a chance to start next season with a 'clean slate'.
If it comes to pass, it would be a bitter pill to swallow but I support Torquay United. Albeit that after nearly two thirds of a century I still haven't worked out exactly what that means. Is it an ideal, is it a name, is it tribal, is it anything else?
I can't put a finger on it save to say that I was still supporting TU through the Webb era and it took some courage to do so then. I just hope that this is just a case of everybody having a cup half empty and that no news (yet) might still be good news.

From comments on other sites, seems to me the club situation is all about smoke, mirrors and tangled webs inside a Pandora's box! In terms of clarity, communication generally appears to be a bit of a mess which fortifies and exaggerates rumour!

I think you might be jumping to conclusions about Geoff Harrop. Don't forget the new owners are reported to have said they want to revive the Academy and Harrop used to be involved in it (did he run it?). Seems an ideal choice. Mind you, if he is appointed manager I won't be so inclined to drive down from North Devon for home games.

A couple of months ago we were all made aware of plans for a new stadium complete with a 4G synthetic pitch for Torquay United. In fact the Daily Truth had a three page spread telling us how fantastic the whole idea was and could in theory be ready in time for the 2017/18 season. IF these plans do exist i wonder how the 4G element of them is affected. With the football league showing no signs of allowing 4G pitches any time soon it would be pointless having one laid at any new ground surely. Although it wouldnt be our money wasted so why should we care ? Then again i presume that Torquay United would have to pay for the plastic to be ripped up and a new pitch relaid in order to gain promotion. Probably cross that bridge if we ever come to it but i couldnt help wondering.
