nico not in talks whth osborne. it is all a sham .ask nico it is rubbish. For a 78 year old new to the bay you seem to have very quickly come up with some remarkably good connections to make a statement like that which contradicts Dave Thomas.....

Allegedly the player budget will be as last season if correct expect another season of dicing with relegation I may be in a minority, but I wasn't expecting a huge budget hike. In fact, I would be very suspicious that if we followed that path it would be a plan to ramp the debt up more quickly to expedite the end game. I may be wrong but I expect that this takeover will see little or no capital investment. I expect that there will be a nominal payment for the actual share capital in Plainmoor Ltd - I don't expect the old board to want to "make a profit" as TU Fans Ltd was suggesting - and that the rest will be lent, not gifted, to the Football Club. Of course, a community share issue would have raised real share capital which would not have been repayable, but the decision has been made to shun that route. Any money that the club loses this season will just be added to the bill and the bill will need paying sooner or later - and that will involve "whatever it takes". If we are hoping to break even next season rather than ramp up the debt, then the massive cut in season ticket prices will not have helped. In rough terms, the "extra" from not having to pay off the old management team as we did this season has already been given away. And even though we exceeded the 1800 "breakeven", I very much doubt if we did actually break even on the season now ending. So I think an increase in debt is more likely than a breakeven, but I see that some are saying that Gaming International are in it for the "profits and the cash flow". Good luck on that. Foot note - in the 95 years that Torquay United AFC Ltd has existed, the total of dividends paid is......£NIL. I have no inside information that all of the above is true, just a hunch. The takeover last summer promised £300,000 of capital investment, but there are no signs of that happening. I would love to be corrected but not a penny has been put in that is not repayable since Thea's massive capitalisation of loans.

Yep, plenty of examples of successful businessman or women taking over a club but generally it is not for business reasons! It is not rocket science, a business is there to make a profit and while this may be cyclical, 95 years of zilch dividends puts it up there with investing in Welsh steel!
Really disappointing that the TUST model was not given sufficient credence by both sets of owners in the last 12 months and we are now facing a very uncertain future with an unclear end game......

Just hope a load of culverts are not perched upon the Plainmoor pylons - optimism moving to sub-zero at present.

Brilliant, I've occasionally been there too!
You should have left it uncorrected as we'd have all thought that you had joined Bay52's camp. In any case it doesn't conjure up anything more bizarre than some of the other goings on in the last 12 months at Plainmoor.

This new board needs to be aware of the growing sentiment about the Sir Nicholson situation! There is a growing number of season ticket holders that will not renew for next season if Kev is replaced! Simple as! I'm hoping for an intelligent and diplomatic solution that benefits all parties! Not holding my breathe on this one! But a discussion might unearth some good ideas that the new board might be wise to take on board!

We certainly wouldn't want to see and self harmes over such things.
