Well, conspiracy theories aside, probably not a bad thing really. We just need to focus on the next batch of games and it would be nice to get points in the bag over the next three matches. Could this campaign be rounded off with a sense of potential optimism on and off the field? Let's blooming hope so!

Pleased in some ways.
Could not see how this would have worked.
Pleased for Truro fans.
I do hope that we can adapt to this change of circumstances and did not have all our eggs in one basket.
I am sure our "special advisor" would have told us to have a plan b - but you would have thought he would have advised us not to trust somebody with a track record of buggaring us about.
If the club nearly died last year because someone blocked all discussions on the future of the club by sitting on an exclusivity deal for months only to change his mind at the last minute, you surely would not put yourself in a position where you were vulnerable to that very same person changing his mind at the last minute again, would you?

I was just pointing out that a planned source of revenue has now disappeared and that is the bad news to weigh against the good news that Plainmoor will not have to host fifty-odd matches next season. |

 Double good news this Sunday morning ! What better trade than losing the likes of Brent Putin-ick, and the BBC Socialist propaganda broadcaster, and instead gaining our good friends from Cornwall, who want to join us so much they'll pay handsomely for the privilege. Remember when you enjoy watching our promotion chasing lads this coming season, that strong squad might have been partly assembled by spending in advance some of the Truro money that will be heading our way. Forget the new kit (although the sky clue version sounds promising) it's the half and half scarves that we should to be buying. The renamed Kernow Popside needs to have it's barriers painted black & white. But the good news doesn't stop there. Our Chairman releases a statement today giving us the optimistic and pleasing news that the Osborne Arena 'we hope will be the home of Torquay United in the not too distant future'.A strong squad ready and eager to mount their promotion challenge, great news from the Chairman, and another week of unbroken sunshine forecast; what a Summer it's turning out to be. link - A big welcome for Uncle Pete & Truro City |

That is a fabulous statement from the Boss! Everybody knows that it's total bollocks...Osborne knows that we know it's total bollocks! To be honest, I'm kind of warming to the guys humour!  I'm trying to think of another situation in the country where another person is in charge and lying through their teeth to their supporters!  |

Key feature would appear to be that it doesn’t say when. It’s when he announces we are ground sharing while our stadium gets built that some might opt to look into investing in a Torquay buy to let rather than waste too much further emotional investment in TUFC.
Other than his propensity for same, why do you consider it a lie, Reg?

Just coping with an extra NLS club sharing Plainmoor will be enough of an addition to what's on our plate. Quite a test for the infrastructure, but hopefully a success can be made of it. I'd imagine it all has to be pushed through for the start of the coming season, otherwise no need for a Chairman's statement to be pushed out on a Sunday.
Welcoming Truro and concentrating on fighting for promotion will be overriding priorities for the club's owners, staff, and players, for the time being. For others, with a different agenda, worrying about how best to stop the club enjoying and benefiting from the modern facilities of the Osborne Arena, remains their Militant priority.

He last said it would be 2020. Been nothing from him to suggest otherwise so if we are to take his word, then 2020 it is. Good news, eh, AJ?
Is that the lie you were referring to, Reg? We know he doesn’t build stadia, despite promising them, so am guessing that is what you’re referring to rather than a likelihood of ground share.
Maybe AJ is right and it is this season we are groundsharing. Maybe not. Anyone’s guess. The statement isn’t clear on that and Radio Devon have already said it isn’t happening, so we are no wiser on either this or whether our club is going to ensure there is online commentary for supporters this season.
Typical of Osborne to regurgitate stadia bumph when we’ve lost commentary, though. The usual pithy soundbite for all to digest and AJ to get all of a lather about that amounts to feck all. Local board and fans forum possibility next up?

His strong point being...he's got shit loads of money! Whether we like him or not is irrelevant, because at the moment, he's what stands between us and the Deep Blue Ocean! Yes, he made a bit of a 'Foe Pa ' last season with managers...then again, maybe that wasn't his fault. He seems to be spending quite a bit of his I'll gotten gains on us at the moment. So as long as he continues to do so, I can forgive the odd porkie!  |

Would love to know more about this Radio Devon announcement. Have they revealed any sources, or what makes them confident to issue this 'It isn't happening' statement ?
You go from Sunday morning with Pete Masters no doubt authorising the newspaper that he owns to lead with the first football story in it's Sports Section, not only quoting the Development Manager of the project to build the new Lidl at Treyew Road that "Therefore as part of this process we have advised Truro City that we will require possession this Summer", in an article headlined and comprising strong hints that Truro's final game at Treyew Road has already taken place. Combine that with our very own Uncle Clarke issuing unusually, a Club Statement on a Sunday morning in July....and it all pointed to a done deal.
What can have happened in the the last few hours, prompting this 180 degree U turn that Radio Devon is now claiming ? Perhaps Rob can throw some more light on this Radio Devon bombshell.

The Truro away fixture is going to feel rather odd  . Politics aside only reservations concern the pitch in the winter months when were sure to be paying for this long hot summer. Makes business sense form our point of view - more revenue from the ground that would otherwise be dormant and earning zero revenue every other weekend. |
