Lack of funds and injuries has not made things easy but in football terms this was the wrong appointment and would agree he is not the man to be at the helm of a relegation fight....

The three Festive games commence today. l would take 3 points from the three games, no doubt our opposing teams think they will take 3 points from each of the games and that could be a weakness!

Well - 3 points in the bag and some encouraging performances over the three Festive games. January's fixtures are looming and we will have to step up a gear to lay any foundations to get enough points to stay up. Very much down to a string of shrewd signings to have any hope!

We have got too rely on a rookie too get the signings right in the last 19 games 12 of which we need to win,and too find promotion form on 200 quid a week players.Absolutely ridiculous,it won't happen

As everyone says, it's the games ahead that are crucial now, as we can't do anything about those past. Besides coming away from this little set of three games empty handed as far as points go, the other fear was that our goal difference would take a massive caning. To have scored as many goals against the top two sides as we have conceded in that four and a half hours of football, surely deserves some praise, plus there are quite a few of us that would have taken three points out of nine if it had been offered on Boxing Day morning.
Three games in such a short period (two of which involve travelling to away games) is tough going for any player. For a 35 year old who is team manager as well, it really was asking a lot. But with insufficient players to even fill the bench, it was a case of dragging the same tired legs through matches.
A decent bit of rest, and a couple of new faces could see us make some inroads into closing the gap as we go through January. A very tough task still ahead, but I don't think the players will fail us through lack of effort.

We should be under no illusions now - we need to bring in four or five players who need to be that much better than any of our recent stampede of exits. Given the way we have seen players leaving, there had better be a stunningly good set of arrangements already signed and sealed. We know the implications for the Club if significant upward progress has not been made by the end of January (aside from any problems due to the weather). Got to say I do not feel inspired thus far.

I think we have to be encouraged by the performances over the Christmas period! There have been many positives for all to see. Yesterday we more than matched a very average FGR team for the majority of the game - despite having to play a number of players in "unfamiliar" roles. The obvious difference in "resources" yesterday was the telling factor. When FGR needed to change things they could - replacing two big target men with a more mobile, quicker pairing. In my opinion this should have been counteracted by switching MacDonald (for his pace) to CB and substituting Gerring rather than Ex (who was doing a solid job "anchoring" in MF). Still the signs are there that the boys are up for the fight. I think we will survive - but just by the "skin of our teeth"!!

Post match kn129 stated there is very little money but hope too get a couple of players in,that's a confidence booster, despite off loading players there is no money still. This is the most perilous period in the clubs history,a couple of players is not enough too save us I am afraid, and kn129 hasn't proved his worth in identifying players who would do the business for us either. So I leave it too people's imagination on where we are heading

Gone a little quiet on incoming midfielder - just hope we are able to increase strength of squad ahead of vital games!
