Will Goodwin on verge of move to Oxford United for £400k plus. Signed for Cheltenham a year ago for 20k.

Yet another cock up. It beggars belief. Goodwin wasn't ours - he was on loan from Stoke. It was Stoke who sold him to Cheltenham and as far as I can tell the transfer fee wasn't made pubic despite a lot of media now claiming it was £20k. Given our track record with transfers, I would very much doubt we were in a position to outbid an EFL team to get him permanently. And that is based on my humble opinion that Cheltenham would have had to pay significantly more than £20k for a striker who had just scored a goal on national TV against a League One side who were being tipped for a return to the Championship. I refuse to believe you can get that quality of player for such a small transfer fee.

Lucas Covolan in goal for Maidstone against Ipswich today. … and they pull it off 2-1. Into the last 16. Covolan played a blinder. Could have been us. Life changing financial implications for Maidstone. Well done to them and to the fans who suffered the old club going to the wall and the Phoenix starting off with no ground to play on. An inspirational story.

When you look at the organisation and discipline of the Maidstone team, you cannot help but contrast it with the “make it up as you go along” approach of the so-called “teams” our manager fields.
I would not fancy our chances against them in the playoffs!

Excellent observation chelstongull...a reminder that a good manager can really turn a club around. If only.....

Yes weird how so many players were written off by our manager and who are now having success at a higher level. Crazy incident that fan who attacked the steward. Sure to get a life ban and likely prosecuted.
