Remember chelstongull..
Lavercombe was only 18-19 when he first played for us. He had trials at Liverpool before signing for Wigan. At that stage it looked like his career was on an upwards trajectory.

Dan Lavercombe....playing for FC United of Manchester. Bit surprising..thought he was capable of playing at a higher level. Wasn’t he the keeper who let in a goal from another keeper? (And I don’t mean from a corner)If so, I’m not surprised he’s not playing in a higher league. Can’t remember who we played but I’m sure they were several leagues lower and we lost. Let’s hope he never darkens our door step again. Apologies if I’m wrong 😁 You're not wrong! Although it was a league game, not against a lower ranked side. It was against Solihull Moors in the brief spell he had back on loan from Wigan a couple of years after he initially left. Pretty sure Wigan only signed him because they saw a very young lad playing regularly in our first team and thought it was worth a punt for a small fee (for them). |

I see that Saikou Janneh has now joined Shrewsbury on loan until the end of the season: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/59847548 I thought he as brilliant for us in NLS, not so good when he return in NL. I don't think he's progressed as far as I was initially expecting, which is a good reminder that youth development is not linear, and at 21 he has plenty of time to reach his potential |

Sorry to disappoint you but Marcin Brzozowski hasn't played for Gloucester apart from once weeks ago - not even on the bench. Bit of a mystery - maybe another Covid victim? |

Jake Cole - well known to TUFC fans from his days with Argyle, Barnet, Aldershot and Woking - is Gloucester’s regular keeper and they have a young keeper ex Bristol Rovers on the bench. Two other keepers registered according to Soccerway. Not sure why they had the crisis for the Wrexham game, but it was hinted at the time that Marcin’s loan was for one game only. Might have had to be for one month minimum but with the expectation it would be one game only. Another ex-Gull at Gloucester is Tommy O’Sullivan. Looked useless when he was here but at the time we had a manager who had the extraordinary ability to make any player look rubbish by force of his negative personality. |
