Seen a clip of the sending off on YouTube and you have got to ask yourself just what the hell did he think he was doing. He's half way between his area and the centre line when he muffs a clearance and pulls down the opponent. I've got a feeling his Football League career is going to be a short one.

Maybe some of that fancy footwork he could get away with in the National League but still had my heart in my mouth at times is much harder to do in the EFL snd needs to adapt his game or as you say his EFL stay will be a short one. At least just an one match ban but confidence in him from management will have been shaken as one sending off in a week can be deemed careless while two…….

link - surprising loss for Notts against York where their defence has come under some criticism so bit of pressure for captain Kyle.

link - surprising loss for Notts against York where their defence has come under some criticism so bit of pressure for captain Kyle. I'm really not convinced by Ian Burchnall at all. I watched Notts County a few times in the latter part of the season on BT Sport and their defence looked a bit creaky. By the time they came to Plainmoor in the play-offs I had expected that to have been tightened up, yet had it not been for Mark Ellis and his Magnetic Head we would have carved them up and scored 5 or 6. Yes, they look very good going forward but their defence looked disorganised. Like us, they haven't had that long back in pre-season training so maybe things will look better in a few weeks. But a well-organised defence shouldn't need that much time to gel and if County are shipping three goals at home to York it suggests to me that their defensive problems persist. I am usually wrong on these things, but Andy Woodman's Bromley look more likely contenders than Notts County do. You can't succeed in the National League by playing pretty football, you need a solid defence to get to the playoffs. IMHO...

Boden, Rees and Marsh on target for Boreham Wood.
Waters on target for his 4th (?) if the season - with hindsight should we have kept him rather than Holman?

I thought at the time of Waters release he was a little unlucky not to get an extension to his contract. Of all those released Waters was the most unlucky and is showing GJ may well have made a huge error. All a shambles currently GJ seems to have lost the magic touch.
