We have been very inconsistent this season but easy to over react either way over 1 result.
I suppose the injury state of Young, McQuilkin and Berry is of more concern to me at this moment in time - probably need two of them playing to be near our best.

most of us want the team to at least try, today was one of many games we have lost showing no desire. If it continues like this its nailed on the fans will not try to turn up either.Forget any ideas of play offs they arent going to make it,if fortunately enough we did,i dont think this present crew would show any desire anyway. We get through this season and remember the many who couldnt be arsed and get rid

The rovers forum was full of despairing comments too after they lost at Braintree earlier this season. Most of them thought they were destined for conference South! Our inconsistency is frustrating but somehow we are still in sight of the play offs. As I said earlier I haven't quite given up hope yet!

Too many performances like this and we WILL be in Conference South. That is the real concern. I, like everyone else, desperately want to see the team succeed but they need to demonstrate this by putting together a series of decent performances and very soon. Failure to get some points in the bag over the next 6 games or so could prove fatal.

Guys, I cant help thinking there are enough really poor teams in this league that there is no realistic prospect of us ending up in the bottom four. The concern is the drop in attendance (and obviously income) that will accompany a mediocre season at this level.
Back to the match though, and yes what a stinker!!! Have to say, we are showing the same traits as last season (and the season before). We do NOT have the wide players capable of consistently creating chances for the forwards to finish. Did they even get one chance yesterday? Or was the Ajala free kick the closest we managed.
In addition, the middle two appear too lightweight (and have done so for several months) to battle much, break up opposition play and win possession back in the midfield. This then leads to the defence coming under more and more pressure, which inevitably ends in giving the opposition clear chances in and around the box.
The previous 2 managers ended up changing their chosen formations when they didnt work. How much longer will our current manager keep trying?

Thus far this is the pits - a gutless, witless and utterly incompetent performance. Is this the shape of things to come? KNILL OUT !!!

An unusual thing happened at Braintree yesterday. Torquay United's performance moved me to the brink of anger. It felt like a further crossing of the Rubicon. I've had this perfectly pleasant hobby of travelling around watching non-league football for many years now. I've also been a Torquay United supporter for longer than I can remember. These two elements now seem rather welded together. I think I'll be okay. But I'm not sure.
Not for the first time, of course, a good day marred only by the football. A pleasant town, decent weather, enjoyable company, another ground visited. I best try remembering that.

Certain people need to remember the state we were in at this time last year, rock bottom of the league and about to endure losing to Exeter and Plymouth back to back over Christmas and new year !

I remember we had Bury and Northampton below us at this time last year so that clearly wasnt rock bottom?

Well, I'm not foreseeing a rapid descent into Conference South. Or even the bottom half of Conference Premier.
Yet I suspect days such as Saturday will be part of the scene, together with rather better ones, for a while to come. Maybe longer. We're part of this league. You can't say we look out of place.
