I'm quite chuffed to be going to Kidderminster this weekend after visiting a few weeks ago for some train-spotting, but I must admit that the fire in my belly for this season is gradually going out. Nonetheless, at least I'm not Chris Hargreaves - I bet he's got steam coming out of his ears after the last few performances, which have derailed our play-off challenge. When he is taking stock this week, I'm sure he'll realise that we're at a real junction in our season - a defeat will suggest we're going to spend the season going through the motions; a win will hopefully point to a reverse of our fortunes to keep our campaign on track. But at least we've got our midfield engine back for this one - I suspect we'll continue with a 4-4-2 arrangement without a total overhaul of the side I doubt Kidderminster will now be looking at us as one of the most powerful teams in the division. Perhaps they're suspecting that we don't want to get involved in the promotion battle - that we're deliberately tanking. Or perhaps they've come to the conclusion that after a few humiliating defeats we're just a bit tender. Either way, with both of us having slowed of late, there's a chance we could become coupled together in the midfield battle To add fuel to the fire, there's also the issue of Kevin Nicholson playing against his old flames. It'll be interesting to gauge what reception he gets from the Torquay fans - I should imagine it'll be generous with polite applause and maybe even a few whistles. Hopefully that doesn't give him the signal to have too a good game against us, though - I'd rather he was a passenger in this match, stationed at the back with his crossing being irrelevant A win seems unlikely on the road, but we could really do with turning a corner here and getting something - it would give us a platform to make further progress in rebuilding our confidence. I'd like to think our coach will inject some passion into them before the game and give us that extra yard of pace, so that we hit them like an express train in the first few minutes to really shake them up. The Harriers will need to guard against complacency - maybe it'll work to our advantage if they really do believe that our season has hit the buffers

Good stuff, James. All aboard.
The team I want to see, and firing, has Pearce in for Downes, Briscoe behind Ofori-Acheampong and Cameron and Ajala on the wings.
I know Pearce came in for criticism at Alfreton, but having Courtney Richards (a decent centre-mid for our level) as a central defensive partner can't have been easy. He remains the best player at the Club for me (him and Young), but that is all based on past performances in another season and he needs to refresh our memories on that one.
With Cameron, the present problem is that his form appears to have drastically tailed off since returning from injury, so I expect that will mean Briscoe occupies a wing and DOA and Bowman will get the nod. I would rather Bowman is not considered an automatic choice if fit, as his performance, more than any other one individual at Aldershot, was of most concern in terms of its lacklustre nature. Whether a rest would hit his confidence or provide the boost required, I don't profess to know the answer to.
Other than that, the rest of the team rather picks itself, other than Cruise in for Ives. How about Ives playing left mid as he does in other matches, allowing Briscoe to go behind DOA rather than on the wing? All would be resolved for me on that score if Cameron could show in training enough to get selected and show on the pitch what we have already seen from him. Then it would be a Cruise v Ives straight debate for me. Maybe Angus shifting over to right back with Pearce and Downes at centre back. Decisions, decisions.
Enough of my waffle - My prediction is we will bounce back and win this one 1-2 after first going behind from a corner. Nicholson will be warmly applauded with a possible short rendition of his name during the warm ups. In contrast to his Judas mate at Christmas. ;-)
My favoured starting eleven:-
Seabright
Berry Pearce MacDonald Ives
Ajala Young Richards Cameron
Briscoe
Ofori-Acheampong
Subs: 5 from Bowman, Cruise, Rice, Yeoman, Downes, Harding, Tonge. (Edited to include Berry signing)

Thanks for putting this up while I have been away James!

I defy anyone to predict the outcome of this game. We're shite, they're shite, at least whoever goes can expect a shithouse full of goals!
On a lighter note, Gilbert the Gull has reached the dizzy heights of Have I Got News For You! On last nights programme he was on the missing words round. Basically, it said that Gilbert threatened to take on the entire Torquay crowd, to which the commentator said "that's not so bad...it's only two against one!" Well, he's not that far out, the way things are going!

We need to get back on track and have a highly winnable game today. Like us after a good start Kidderminster have had the wobbles, so let's keep them wobbling!
A last minute Luke Young special into the top corner would do the trick.

My mind isn't on football that much at the moment mate. At the moment i'm in the process of selling two houses, buying another and renting another...phew! Decided to move to a remote part of the Yorkshire dales...stunning place, stunning views...stunning!
On to todays match. I hope the new chap plays, because allegedly, he does what it says on his CV...defend! He's not one of these players who storms up the wing in support of the forwards, like say Cruise does, and then gets caught out time and time again at the back. It's all well and good if you have some one who can do that, but at this present time, a defender who stays in his own half for most of the game is fine by me...as long as he sorts out this hemoraging hemeriging...helps stop us conceding all these goals!

My prediction 2-2 with Nico equalising from a free kick in the sixth minute injury time. Would be par for the course!
Is Young playing or doing the Argyle draw this week?

Have a gut feeling for a draw today - certainly the best I am hoping for and would take a point. It has been some time since we 'shared' the points, so probably due one.
