Clicking the link in Alpine Joe's posting enables you to vote on Bristol Rovers star man. Mansell and Matty Taylor are neck and neck. Perhaps the legend can rally former fans to vote for him to clinch the award (or instead vote for Taylor, so he doesn't).

'Friendly gas' on t'other site has heard a rumour Rovers are after Luke Young. Part-exchange deal with Super Manse returning to Plainmoor apparently. You heard it here first. |

Coaching badges. There's a thing. Cloughie had it right when asked about his lack of coaching quals. He replied with something along the lines of 'Coaching badges? 2 league titles and 2 European Cups. They're my bloody coaching badges, son. Now be off with you'.

With the curtain sensibly being brought down on Buck's comedic 79 days of management at Cheltenham, it was at least fitting that his time in charge coincided with pantomime season. Thankfully, we did manage to feature Paul as a 'Guest Legend' back on 7th December, realising it was important to be quick off the mark before it soon ended in the predictable tears. Well today we take a look at the other end of the spectrum, forgetting the car crash management of 'Bucks79' that has brought turmoil to Whaddon Road, and instead focus on a genuine talent who will surely demonstrate the ability to have an exceptional managerial career when the time comes.
Currently still playing for Kidderminster (that tiny town in the North East sandwiched between Grimsby and Gateshead  ) super-fit Kev still reckons that there might be a couple of years left in the old legs yet. However, he's already got one eye on a future management career, and spends a few hours coaching the Harriers youngsters when time permits.
In a rushed interview, that started before Kev even had time to take his scarf off, our second favourite Legend spoke about the future:

There may be an accompanying t-shirt 'I saw Bucks win' for those Cheltenham fans fortunate to see the (away) solitary win at Oxford.

It's pretty sad that so many words have been written about past servants of the club. They're gone. Get over it. Better to put that energy into supporting the current incumbents. Who knows? So doing may actually help to bring some glory days to the club.
I used to enjoy Alpine Joe's missives but now I'm starting to think he's not really a Torquay supporter at all.

I don't recall alpine being unrepentant in support of Roberts!! Of course he's a Gull. And a fine poster. Also, I loved the Ling thread on Sheffield Gulls. Twas a work of art. Much appreciated by my old friend Vikingp9andhallam.
What's more, of course he knows Mansell's a useless Judas. Didn't even mention him this week. It's a bit of fun, that's all. ;-) I find myself agreeing with the thought that Nico might become a decent manager someday, too.

Not too bad a weekend for our old Legends. A 1-1 home draw for Kev's Harriers against Woking, a game given added significance by a goalscoring return to Aggborough for Nico's new teammate Lee Hughes. The last time Hughes scored for Kidderminster at Aggborough was on March 29, 1997.
Cap'n Manse isn't giving up on that automatic promotion place just yet, and an away win at Grimsby keeps the pressure up on Barnet. It's almost getting boringly repetitive now, but the Bristol Post once again declared Cap'n Manse to be Rovers 'Star Man':
